Default Novarossi 21-5KT pipe recommendations

Hey guys lookin' for pipe/header recommendations for a 21-5KT to be used on an 8T...will be used primarily at Revelation Raceway in Socal which I think was recently changed from a technical to a high-speed track. I was looking at the Novarossi 9853 but Amain seems to be backordered on ALL Novarossi pipes/headers for a while. What other pipes/brands are similar or do any of you have any other suggestions? THANKS

You can use the RB 9886. It might still be available at Amain, or you can use an 086 version pipe as long as you pair it with a long smooth flow header.

get a dynamite 086hs pipe/header set and tune it right (find the guy that tunes everybodys engine and makes 'em Rip !!!! at your track ) and you will be happy

Will a JP3 or any of the Jammin' pipes work well with the 21-5KT? I know a guy that's getting out of the hobby that has slightly used JP1-4's up for sale.

Novarossi 086; 9886 with a short header work well.

The Ninja/GRP FLS pipe also works EXCELLENT on shorter tracks. Has more bottom than a 9886 and slightly more mid, just doesn't have the last little bit on the top (but on a short track you don't care). Gas mileage is about the same.

Thanks for the replies guys...I wasn't sure between the 9853 or the 9886 but based on everyone's responses, I'll go with the 9886 & short header. Actually, I'll probably get a long header at the same time so I can try both.

Novarossi 9986 & Dynamite 086 are pretty much the same thing, right? I like the fact that the Dynamite is available hardcoated and has a re-inforced stinger...plus I can almost get 2 pipe sets for the price of 1 Novarossi set

The 9886 and 086 are two different animals; though they appear physically similar.

Either will work well; but the 9886 should lead slightly in fuel mileage and bottom end.

IF you get either; you'll want the short header (I'd be shocked otherwise).

one of the best pipe sets hands down for novarossi is the ofna 086 with jammin header !!!! serious!!(short header robs bottom end big time) great resonation , killer powerband and everything in between !!! the only problem is they are fragile
second best in performance but leading in durability and price is the dynamite 086hs pipe/header combo .
mugen msr1005 pipeset with medium header is another great pipe , feels like the 063 pipeset which is great for truggy if you use an 053mr pipe from dynamite (or any 053), use the ofna short header , trust me the results will be great !!!
yes i do alot of testing

Houston - Thanks for making me even more confused! J/K! That's real cool that there are guys like you on the board that have field tested these types of things and can pass the info on. I was about to call my LHS and have them order me a 9886 w/ short header but now I might have him order a dynamite 086 AND 053 pipe set since it'll come out to about the same price as 1 Novarossi set...then I can tinker around with both.

I'm currently running a 427 w/ jp3 and I just helped one of my buds break-in his hotmod 821B so I think it's time to take the 21-5KT off the shelf before he completely runs circles around me!

Does anyone know how the eb mods pipe would work with the Novarossi 21-5K motors? I have a 5k too which I am going to put in a truggy but I don't have a pipe for it yet...
