I like the Jammin JPX .21 and .28 for good $200 motors.:)

Briguy 11-04-2008 01:33 PM

I ran the Dynamite engine for the first time this past weekend and it is a great performer .

Garrison 11-04-2008 01:42 PM

nova rossi all the way. i ve got two with 8 plus gallons on them and they still run strong

slaytanic 11-04-2008 02:28 PM

I've heard the Platinum is a pretty hot mill. Although my Sportwerks .21v2 is the most reliable I've ever had. I also have the Go 3 port race. It is a great mill with the right pipe. But Go's will make you feel retarded when trying to tune.;)

NitroLuver 11-04-2008 03:00 PM

RB S3 L2G

bobbyblaze 11-05-2008 04:45 AM

i say go to tower hobbies use a coupon get the jammin .21 or .28 the power these mills have is outstanding to any track condition

novacrzy 11-05-2008 05:25 AM

RB S3 L2G but i am wondering if the s3 is enough power but in my opinion rb is the best you can get

Briguy 11-05-2008 05:31 AM

The S3 is great for small to medium tracks and have plenty of power .

novacrzy 11-05-2008 05:35 AM

i have a s3 in my buggy and love it but i dont know if it is enough power for a truggy

RickBac 11-05-2008 06:28 AM

Racing, bashing or both?

If you are just starting out in RC or in nitro RC, I would think the less expensive a little less powerful would be the way to go. Learn how to tune and if you mess something up it is a little cheaper.

If you are racing, less power makes you learn how to be a smoother driver. You have to carry more speed in turns and over jumps. Once you master that, go to a real good .21. It will have plenty of power and excellent run time between pit stops, especially compared to a .28.

Have fun!

novacrzy 11-05-2008 10:32 AM

+1

Maximo 11-05-2008 10:47 AM

a JPX 21 would be an awesome choice for you...it performs better then even the most expensive offroad motors and it costs just over $200.00 ......

+1, jammins are DA Bomb

NitroLuver 11-05-2008 12:03 PM

rb outta those 2 but I'd suggest that jpx.21 it's around the same price and it's an animal

Rocket42 11-05-2008 12:35 PM

I say Go and I will tell you why, the RB is a very nice engine, but you are comparing one brands sport engine to another brands race engine. The Go features the same components as their pure bread race engines. Usually when an italian engine brings out a sport engine they are skimping some where besides just the piston and sleeve.

drs92 11-05-2008 12:41 PM

im going with the go.21 3 port r-spec and what pipe with it?? And because the rb is a sport engine

Do some more research. there were a few guys at my track that tried the go engines, and they were all unhappy with the quality, and longevity of the engines. they are fast as hell and make a ton of power, but why sacrifice when you dont need to

I would die before I recomend an OS to anyone, I actually may be closer to dieing than I would like, if I continue to bash OS. I've been getting hate mail from their supporters, lol

Hehehe, good to see someone in here with a sense of humour... :)

Rocket42 11-05-2008 02:34 PM

The Go 801 pipe is the best for the 3 port but its pretty fragile, If you are looking for something good and tough I would say the dynamite hardcoated 053 for a truggy application.

If longevity was an issue, it sounds to me like they were not broken in correctly. They are probably the tightest engines I have seen brand new, and because of this will wear the rod and cause undue to stress if not broken in properly. Guys around here are very bitter when my $189 motor kicks their $400 motor's ass. This is runing all stock components, non modded, and with the 0801 pipe. The popularity of them has grown around here, and once people have figured out the break in procedure (keep it hot) there hasn't been any failures.

I heard when they first started shipping, there was a bad batch that got shipped out. I think like 5 people at my track all got one of these same engines. I have also heard that the problem has been addressed, and is no longer an issue. I have not personally tried a GO engine, but there's tons of people who seem to love them, so that counts for something. Win with what you got, and stick to what you win with! That's my Motto

moeman 11-05-2008 05:40 PM

If you get the GO junk the carb and put in something that actually tunes, like a V-spec. I got nothing good to say about the GO carbs, and I don't care to tune one EVER again.

easyryder 11-05-2008 11:18 PM

The 5 port go tech even better than the 3 IMO.
