Gridiron's are in shops!!! If you don't have them,... you could be hating life at your next race. This tire is sick!!!!! The name is cool too...

Ryan, no more practice for you... just keep bagging these tires for us... LOL! JK

I was at the Revelution Raceway where most LOSI team drivers spend time at. My team buddy had AKA tires, i dont remember which kind.. they sure did hold up alot better than PROILINE holeshot and bowties could. And Losi tires too. I wish I could have bought set for the JBRL round 7 race..

I have been running the AKAs since they came out, I haven't any other brand on my car since, except for yesterday at Rev. where Holeshots seem to be the choice of tire. Now that I have read that the Grid irons are out, which look like a similar tread pattern/size, I am definately going to try those to replace the Holeshots. I 2nd what every1 is saying about traction and wear, they are the best tires I have ever ran. The foams are frickn awesome, they feel very consistant (for lack of better words). also they are the most balanced tires/foams i have dealt with. the rims are great too! the outside of the wheel is raised near the hex nut for added protection. cool packaging too, re-useable, sealable (zip lock style). enough said.

Best tires hands down! No prep either mount em and glue em. Really painless. Traction like you dream of. Very consistent and the wear is unbelievable.

I tried a variety of tires over the years and never been so much impressed with AKA inserts and tires let alone rims. Those shoes are by far the best out there.

Truggy tires will be available hopefully by the end of November in the city-block and I-beam tread patterns. Gridiron will be soon to follow.

Some pre-mounts could be available shortly. We are getting close to being all caught up. I would look for a decent line of pre-mounts by the end of November as well. Also FYI, team drivers aren't allowed to buy pre-mounts. But these tires are the easiest tires you will ever glue! Pull tire from package, mount on AKA wheel, Glue with AKA glue. No Prep, no tire bands, no fuss!

Also the Gridiron in Soft TQ'd this past weekend in the Pro Buggy Class at the JBRL #7 at Revelation. So I'd say it's just as if not more competitive than the holeshot on that track already! ;-)

what AKA tire is similar to Bowtie?

Are the AKA inserts and rims also the best to use?

You would not want to run AKA tires without the AKA insert. That is one of the most inovative and critical parts!!!

Correct that the I-beam is the most similar to a Boe-tie.

The entire AKA package of tire/foam/wheel/glue is of course the best combination to use because the product was meant for each other. The fit and finish of each piece works together.
Of course other wheels / foams / glue will work though..

You will not find a foam that fills the tire out like the AKA foams. The foams are as good as the tire and help make them the best tire out there. The foams are made for those tires and don't even think about putting those in another brand because they will refuse to make that tire work.

I am excited about trying Gil's tire creation on his other project, the 8ight buggy! I have liked a lot of Gil's creations and these tires have got my attention since seeing them! Too bad the I-block truggy tires will not be out in time for the RC Pro Series Finals

Should be the only tire I have next season when I switch over to buggy!
