losi xxxnt axle pin problem

Try not cranking down on the wheel nut too hard. Snug is fine, it doesn't have to be muscled on there. Breaking one here or there over a long period of time is one thing, but there is definitely something not right in your case. It's got to be either too tight, or if you have an .18 in it, that would also be the problem.

actually it would lead me to believe your wheel nut is either loose or coming loose during driving. and i would replace the wheel nuts. if it in place and tight it will be extremely difficult to break the pin. but when it is loose and the wheel is moving in and out as you land off camber and during turning it would stress the pin and then cause it break. also a loose nut will strip the inside of the wheel as you described. you could also look to a solid pin instead of the rolled pin that it comes with. however you find one that fits tight and everytime you remove the wheel you have to ensure not to let it fall out and lose it in the dirt.

if your slipper is too tight you will break those pins too, not saying thats your problem but it might be something for you to check.

Been there before. Even tried roll pins but they deformed also until I found the problem. Make sure you put the factory spacer between the bearings on the rear axle so the inner races provide something firm to tighten the nut against otherwise the wheel can be putting alot of stress on the pin when it's tightened rather than on the washer behind it. Forgetting this spacer will either bend or bust the pin or elongate the hole so the pins slide back and forth causing minor wheel wobble. It also greatly shortenes the life of the bearings.
