Its possible to win with a RTR, depends on your driving, if you keep it on all 4 wheels you will be competitive, start out in the sportsman class if need be.

We are working with SH/Z-Car on a 2010 model with a bunch of upgrades.

PIcs? 375 in here http://www.z-carusa.com/pics/
we can still get everything for the z car. we even have the z cars on sale right now for some pretty low prices. pro buggy kit is 199.99 and pro truggy kit is 280$ and the rtr are pretty cheap too

steering servo would be smart to get, like the hitec 7955! everything else is pretty good and only setup will need to be changed.

Well I just received the buggy rtr. To say the least I am very dissapointed. To start traditional tiwanise quality, none at all. They cant even build the car right to start with. The rear had a rear shock and a front shock. The rtr dosnt come with stabalizer bars at all. The airtronics control that comes with it is very cheap. The way the rear brake linkage is set up is a joke you cant even get the battery cover off unless you take the rear brake rod off. Im just hoping when I call Hobby People tomarrow they will send me a replacement shock and dont expect me to send the whole car back. And Im hoping they will send it overnight just because of the inconvienence this has caused me. I read all these posts and thought this could be a really nice car (not). And the really sad thing is I got this for a freind who really wants to get into buggy racing. Hes pretty new at this and I ve been doing it for awhile and I feel really bad this is how he has to start. If he would have had more money I would have had him get an associated or if he had a little more than that a Losi. I just hope the motor gives it some credibilty although being an SH motor I doubt it. Just want to say if your want an rtr stay away from this one.

Really sorry to hear that. I can't imagine hobbypeople being much help. Woulda shoulda coulda. If some one is going to buy a z car please get it from zcarusa. They specialize in zcar only. Still this is no reason you had these problems with the rtr you bought no matter where you bought it from. Yes the car is different from others but it drives like no others. After you get you problems figured out I hope you get to enjoy the zcar

The shock thing is ridiculous, call Global and they will straighten it out for you.
The no sway bars? Thats not uncommon at all for RTRs.
The battery tray lid thing is a very minor inconvienance, and if you look at the the pictures on our site you will see most have drilled a small hole for the battery charge lead to stick out so you really never have to lift the lid, but if you do, all it takes is about 3 seconds to pop off the rear brake linkage anyway to get at it.

SH engine, you doubt it?
Perhaps you may not understand but SH engines have a great reputation, thats why Losi uses them in their vehicles. Did you know that? If he had bought the Losi RTR buggy the same engine less pull start is in it.
I understand you being mad at the shock thing, I agree, thats ridiculous, but the rest of your complaints and venting are misdirected.
