Hyper 8.5 pro diet?

  • Got a 8.5 pro and was chasing some ideas or help on ways to give it a diet.Is there a company that makes good quality carbon shock towers,Battery boxes, cross members? Is there titanium screw kits or anyother weight loss programs to put the now a little heavy hyper 8.5 on?
  • Get the Mugen MBX 5 ti screw kits(upper & lower). Also Lundsford ti turnbuckles
  • go the OFNA website and search around... some good ideas there under Hyper8/8.5... http://ofna.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=10170

  • rumor is "someone" is going to try molding some carbon chassis, and he is going to start with a losi 8ight and a hyper 8

the hyper 8.5 already have titanium turnbuckles from factory

as for the original post, look up D8's links, Rob from Nitrohouse put his Hyper 8.5 on a diet and turned out good!
  • rob's buggy has aluminum screws, and lightweight everything(driveshafts etc) no cf tower though...also i think he did the kortz chassis cut but check out ofna talk back forums for full write up rob will def help you on your quest

No rumor....Robert over at Matrix has the buggy chassy out for the 8...the trug chassy is still not available....also he had no intention to Ever do anything with a Hyper 8.....at least from what ive read in the original carbon chassy thread.
  • Thanks for the tips guys.Awesome ideas.Soon as i saw them the buggy got stripped down and got the treatment and Very happy with it.Any other ideas?
  • you can do what kortz did and drill mass quantities of holes into the shock towers
