I would imagine Horizon contacted Neo-Buggy, and ask them to pull the article/picture. I'm sure Horizon wants to have a formal announcement later. Stop any speculation, or keep it to the minimum for now. Next week well all see pictures of it (2.0) from the IFMAR Worlds at the Farm II.

New models already have the new radio box. The battery cover screws on.

That would be my best guess too. The chassis LOOKS the same, from what I could see. Just black - which is lame (IMO) because too much black makes it harder to see. Maybe that's just me though.

...but it doesn't look like they changed the footprint for the rear gearbox.

Really? A running change, eh? I already made my battery box and receiver box a bolt on. Works a bit better than the clips.

This would be a heck of a service pack. I'm thinking a new complete buggy. IMO service packs is when there is a "few" upgrades, not 1/2 the buggy.

I would imagine that since the new oval car uses the same basic parts, they will have enough parts for the 'older' 8ight for some time.

Not to mention there are a lot out there that will be going into closets/garages in the next month or so... they will resurface about the time summer comes around and people need new tires, fuel, hopups....

Just an educated guess.

Is it just me, or do the front shocks look about 20% longer?

“This weekend Losi’s team drivers received upgrade ‘goody bag’ packages with the new parts to try out before heading to Charlotte for the Worlds. Our fearless reporter managed to snap a few pics of the parts in their bags before they were hurridly taken away and hidden from view for next week’s official launch. Our understanding is that the 8ight 2.0 will be released and marketed as a brand new car; a development of the 8ight - originally released in late 2006. The car comprises of several updates to key areas; focusing on improving handling, durability and reducing weight. New features include: all metal parts are now anodized black, parting from Losi’s traditional hard-anodized grey look, the chassis is longer, new gearboxes, a possible direct drive center driveshaft, new improved diffs, new rear hubs, new body and much more.”

In case someone missed the little write up of it..
