Default Gear Ratio

Can someone show me the formula to figure overall gear ratio on my buggy.

I have 46t diff gear and 10t pinion, front and rear

The spur gear is a 48t and the clutch is a 15t

thanks

10/46 = 4.60
15/48 = 3.20

3.20 x 4.60 = 14.72 final drive.
I hope this is in a truggy.

Thanks jpz_67

Is the 14.72 the number of rotations of the clutch bell per 1 revolution of the wheel?

Nope this is my buggy.

As for the rotations I am not sure. That specific gear ratio is a lot of gear for a buggy with the small diameter tires and such.

That should be 14.72 revolutions of the clutch bell to 1 revolution of the tire, like you said. Pretty easy to figure that out... just put some white-out or paint on the clutchbell and count how many times it goes around per each complete turn of the wheel... should count about 15 revolutions...
