Default Losi XXX-NT Diff question

I hope this is in the right forum.

Anyways i have been having problems with the diff in my xxx-nt. I think either the diff screw or the nut might be stripped. I tightened the diff and was able to drive for about 5 minutes. Than the diff got loose and started slipping. I have done this twice

My question is this. Can I take the diff screw out without taking apart the transmission. Or Do I need to pull the whole thing apart.

My 2nd question

Does anyone have a spare xxx-nt transmission lying around? id pay a reasonable price.

Make sure to use a new losi diff nut. They don't work so well the second time around

Yeah I rebuilt it because the diff gear was worn. I priced out all the parts for a new trans and it was around 85 dollars. I saw a roller losi on craiglist for 75 but it got snatched up. The reason i want a whole new transmission is that I dont know what else is damaged in the trans. My dad did some donuts and its never been the same since.

i would tear it apart and just replace the diff gear and diff balls and idler gear and thrust bearings get a new diff screw it is probably less than 25 dollars the rest of the bearings in the transmission are probably good losi parts house has everything you need really cheap

why dont you check to see if you have the diff bolt in backwards. If it is backwards, the diff will loosen up when running. As far as the diff nut, i re-use mine all the time. I change my rings every other rebuild.

get the new bolt that comes with the spring instead of using those dumb belleville washers. Diff is alot easier to adjust too.
