Default Future of Nitro Off Road

With R/C racing on the down slope, Real and R/C fuel prices going the other way twice as fast, were slowly loosing the people that make R/C racing, R/C racing.

Soon, We may have 2 types of R/Cer.

The Basher

The Paid Pro
The basher, breaking his parts, supports the team, to support the paid pro.

But HEY! The price of a gallon of R/C Fuel rockets up, so the basher gets out. No more money. Adam Drake looses his job.

But wait, we forgot about some people.

The Weekend club racers! But they lost all there money for racing traveling to big races and trying to become the next Adam Drake or Mike Truhe way before the basher did!

Big Picture i'm Shooting for?

R/C's gonna die! Slowly and sadly.

Your thinking "Whats this dudes PROBLEM!?!" Why is he sitting here thinking about all this and not practicing for his next big race? Well, I would be, but see, Rain+Dirt=Mud. And I just cleaned my losi!

So I'm sitting here spinning the in my head, trying to think what i'm gonna be doing for next summer, this winter, couple years from know. I'm putting down lots of Race Dates, but what if I am the only one to show up? The only one with the money, or the time, or the only one left clinching radio in hand.

Loosing the weekend racer is whats gonna kill us all. Hell, I'm one of them!

Whats this big rant for?

To talk about a idea a Friend and I had. Its starting small, a myspace. www.myspace.com/ampdracingteam . Whats the racing team about? Keeping club racers in the sport. Supporting them with a place to talk, give info, post bios, post pictures, post set-ups, be seen by the world. This is for the club racer trying to make every state race, club race, practice he/ she can. Not for a big paycheck driver.

Most of all, this gets them support for what they love. What everybody on this website loves, Remote Control Car Racing.

Were working on our website, and some other little ideas. Add the myspace, talk to us, give us ideas, feed back, anything.

Think you can get on the team and have a spot with YOUR racing info on our up coming website? Contact us, any way you prefer.

Myspace: www.myspace.com/ampdracingteam

E-Mail: [email protected]

Companys, wanna help support these club racers that hold the key to the future of your sport? E-Mail us, its way simple. When you help us, our whole team helps you. It don't cost anything but some time.

Thanks every body for the future support!

I think there is a site thats already trying to do this. Its called UndergroundRC.com. They give away race motors to the members and shoot videos and such to keep/get new people interested so the hobby doesn't die.

I'm scared things are slowing very rapidly also, and the tracks are struggling to stay open. Its rough times these days, but I think we will pull out of it slowly over the next three years. Keep your hopes up and fingers crossed.

... and your right,... its the weekend racers that keep the tracks open and RC companies profits up.

Isnt rctech, sgrid and undergroundrc.com already doing this so why join another sorry just seems strange to me....and hasent real car gas gone down in the past month....basicaly theirs too many races and series at once or for atleast down here in socal.. just this month theirs jbrl nitro and electric ,saturday series, nitro house, electric nats, electric summer surf classic thats too many,, us as racers need to support our local tracks and just have fun ...the series runners should get togethor and throw a really good series once every other month all over even Nitro Pit lol so people can support their local tracks and save for a travel to the next series......

I think he's trying to shoot for a Place where you can have a page a be a super star, with out being one. Sounds like a ego builder more than anything, keep people happy and in the sport. And dont diss him, sounds like hes trying.

And I like that idea of a big huge race once a month. Like nascar, gas truck friday, truggy saturday, and buggy sunday. lol, but monthly. Idk.

10 races, 10 months. Its a idea.

This is all wrong. Even though gas and nitro is high, too many people have thousands in this hobby. We all know its not cheap and even if nitro went to 50.00 a gallon I still think people would still buy it. Now you may lose the kids who rely on their parents to bring them to the races but as far as club racers go I do not see it slowing down. I run the a track in NC and we are having larger turnouts at every event. The people who do this do it for the adrenaline and some for an escape. We have no problem spending the money even if we dont have it to spend just to get to hang out with freinds and other people who get the same feeling racing as you do. I think even without Drake and all the others this hobby wouldnt suffer a bit. Remember they need us, we dont need them. I do not buy something just because Adam or any other pro driver uses it. Im in this hobby to have fun, and yes I spent a boat load on it ( 1100.00 in the last 2 weeks) but it brings me joy and some frustration and isnt that what lifes all about????

All you guys need to chill out and take a backward step .The r/c game is not losing anything actually growing .Speculation is what puts pricing up the same way oil went up in price because of speculators and not because of demand and what happened specualtors made there money and now they have shut up and the oil price has dropped .

Rumours are what destroy the industry example the rumour that serpent wasnt going to be around anymore which was false they are only moving there manufacturing to Asian taiwan so they can be more competative thats all .

The hobby is growing not slowing down at all .Tracks close down because of poor management and difficult councils not because of the hobby .Now that the olympics are nearly over the price of nitro will come down as the chinese factories will re open and the flow will start flowing again to the usa .I know this as a dear friend of mine's fsmily won a nitro methane manufacturing plant on the outskirts of beijing

all is good and just enjoy

so guys just relax and enjoy

Economy goes up and down... first things to be affected are the leisure and porn industry (Fact.).

Drop in numbers at the race track, but then a fair few people are putting their 4x4's in the garage for a few months and not taking that holiday this year.

Personally, my GF makes me go racing so she doesn't have to deal with me being restless.

Saying that, i am all for independant teams, people working to support each other and go racing in groups... makes it a more social outing as well. Good luck!
