Default os .21 vg. shimming for 20%

hello i got a used .21 vg that was run on 30% with one silver shim.i want to run it on 20% what do i need to do. remove or replaced the shim. on my brothers sts d21b its 0.3mm and 0.5mm for 30mm. would it be the same concept. thanks for any advice

Good little engines! I have about 3 gallons thru mine right now. Still running strong!

It comes stock with one little shim. Ready to run with 20%. I think 30% is pushing it a little with this engine, but I run it anyway.

Run 20% the way it is!

They have good snap, good midrange (with a 053) and decent top end.

They also REALLY resond to some polishing and a little porting, but that's a whole other thread.

boostfiend is right, the engine is set up stock to run best with 20%. The stock plug should be an OS#8 and that is also optimum for 20%. If you go up to 30% you should consider a cooler plug, like an A5.
