There seems to be a bunch of these for sale pretty cheap with hardly fuel through them. I can likely get one for about $100, and send it to be sealed and modded for another $100 or so. I may just used the motor for dyno pulls and back up for both my trucks. What do you think?

I have one modded by mark at powerhouse and it's a beast to say the least...geared up to a 15 tooth clutchbell and it still has plenty of low end..

I think he means used.

I couldn't even get $100 for my JPX .28(same motor), with about 1.5 gallons on it.

Remember they're only around a $200 motor to start with. Good motors, but too much power in most situations.

Yes it is used. One that I am looking at is practically brand new. I figure, get it modded to smooth out the powerband, and have some fun with it.

Used=other people's nightmares. Buy a cheep new engine for practice, use the OS for racing only. I would only buy used anything from local people who I can knock on their doors if there's a problem.
