Default header for JP4?

I have a jp4 pipe and the header has been banged up on the screw that holds the plastic mudflaps onto the chassis. theres almost a hold that goes all the way through.

Ive decided its time for a new header, I dont know if they are all one size fits all or what? im looking at this one, but dont know if it will fit...

thanks.

engin is LRP .28 spec3

I dont race on a track, just WOT down the gravel roads.

I am looking for the highest top speed possible, hence the short header.

thanks.

I did almost the exact same thing to my JP-1. After searching high and low, I ended up getting a Dynamite header that works pretty well. It looks like a medium length, so it may not be what you're after.

Yeah, I looked at that, I noticed that the dynamite was just kind of a cheap universal one kinda. I was looking at some of the higher end ones, and wasnt sure wether they would fit or not.

I think most pipes are pretty much the same size, if not. the gromit (sp?) will fix that.

or maybe the 3 little spring holes dont line up or something.. im not 100% sure.

thanks.

They are all pretty universal except some Sirio's use four springs.

is this the same thing?

https://www.carolinasrc.com/webstore...idproduct=1857

and what exactly do they mean by a "mugen header".. I thought they associated the header name with the engine brand, not the buggy brand..

how about that one, it says "his FLS manifold easily connects to the Ninja FLS pipe (MUGMR15004) via twisting. "

so Im thinking there might be a problem sticking that specific one onto a JP4 pipe..

Nope, won't work. It has a twist lock system.

Sorry, by "mugen header" I meant that it was made by Mugen. Most of the headers seem to be pretty standard unless they use a quick-lock type system. Some GRP and Ninja motors use them (probably others too).

Yeah I know, they dont look too bad.. but 16$ versus 40$... the 40$ one has gotta improve your engine performance more than the 16$ one, you get what you pay for.

yeah thats fine, I think I seen it somewhere else, calling a header a "mugen header"

so is it safe to assume a mugen header has a universal size and will fit most slip on pipes?

A lot of people swear by that dynamite header despite it's low price. I haven't tried it myself though.

If money is no object get a Nova or RB header. Or try one of those Werks conical headers.
