Default DX3.0 VS DX3R

I am about to buy my 1st 2.4ghz radio my 2 choices are DX3.0 and DX3R not interested in any other models. I am a racer or will be after I buy the radio. My question is. Am I going to notice some huge difference between these 2. Is there some under lying issue that I should be considering. One is way faster than the other I won't be able to do a highly needed function. One is just plain garbage. The price difference is about $100 what am I getting for my extra $100 with the DX3R?

i have using the DX3R for over six months now and love it ,i never used the other one but i think its worth the extra money the DX3R is Spektrum`s top of the line surface system,i know the DX3R is DSM2 wich means its faster than the previous system wich i think the DX3 is not ...

3R is worth the extra $$$ . more features better/smaller RX but if on a budget the 3.0 will get the job done. really you can use a 2.0 too ive used mine for over a year and love it. personally i would pick up a solo 2.0 TX and then find the newer/smaller RX to fit in most radio boxes better. no matter what you cant go wrong!!

Not to mention the batteries last FOREVER!....

I really like the light weight and feel of the DX3r. I think the only feature your missing compared to other top radios is Futaba's has an antilock brake feature.
