To tell you the truth I dont worry too much about temp as long as it is running properly and blowing smoke. I dont like to run my engines any cooler than 200 degrees because I feel it can cause wear more rapidly to the piston/sleeve. Normally I am real happy if it is 240-260 but that is just in general. I have one engine that runs best at 290 which some people would kringe at but it runs fine and blows plenty of smoke so I leave it.

Yea anywhere from 220 - 300 is fine, but most engines seem to run best at the 220-260 range. And thins is just a general guideline like blowpop said if it runs good and blows smoke at 290 run it there. engines run differently with different fuels also.

Hi, I also feel like what you mention on if running rich it might wear the piston and sleeve more fast then run a little hot. Later this weekend I will make my engine to run ~230-240 with smoke out from pipe
