If your 8ight is the RTR the chassis is the problem.

you either get the kit motor mounts or get a king headz quick change mount or the losi quick change. I have the king heads quick change and love it makes clutch matinence a breeze without having to redo the gear mesh

My friend has the RTR and he had to dremel the sides of the hole in the chassis so the wheel could contact the flywheel. I bet you can get the 8b chassis pretty cheep since the new flex chassis is out. If you can I would pick up a 8b chassis and the motor mounts listed above, and you should have no problems after that.
