Default Accidently put air filter oil in my nitro engine

I was just done running for the day and was cleaning up my 8ight buggy. I grabbed my air filter oil and squirted it in the glowplug hole. OH #@!#! as I looked at the bottle. I meant to use after run oil.

So my question now is am I screwed and have to take this engine apart and clean it, or is it no big deal?

As you can tell I am new to rc's, had a frog 15 or so years ago, so any help would be great.

yeah you might be able to get away with only pulling the back plate and plug and dowse with brake cleaner or some other alcohol based solvent.

Take the backplate and plug out and wash it with WD-40.

The question to you is, is it worth ruining an engine over?

I'd take it appart and clean it good, that could gum up your oil spout on your con rod and could sieze the rod to the crank. better safe than sorry!

I guess I will just take it apart. After everything is disassembled should I soak and scrub everything in nitro fuel? or what?

denatured alcohol, mineral spirits, anything that will take the air filter oil off the engine parts.be sure to lube it up WITH AFTER RUN OIL(couldn't resist) before putting it back together....

Dont feel bad my buddy did the same thing. He realized it right after he did it so he just ran several tanks through then put after run oil in it but I would recommend the disassembly and clean just to be safe.

Depends on what kind of air filter oil was used. Put a drop between your thumb and forefinger and open your fingers. Is the oil really tacky (like hot cheese dripping off a pizza)? Then you need to worry. Otherwise it will just burn off the next time your fire it up.
