Amen to Tebo's performance. Best drive of the event IMO. Boots sure does seem unlucky, but no one has been more snake bitten then Lutz the last year or so. Seems like he is always breaking in the Main's.

I tried telling the powers to be about this several years ago, but what does I know !
Thanks for the insight!

Welcome to Durango! Went down that route over a year ago when the DNX408 first came out. Does no surprise me at all. He is so fast, just imagine what he would do with a solid platform like the Kyosho.....

RedRC is reporting this. Just bad luck I guess.

Unfortunately on lap 9 the Kyosho team driver would retire with a broken MP9, unearthing a large rock in the front single double double section it damaged the buggy causing it to go straight on into the straw bails at the end of the back straight later in the lap pulling a rear kingpin from its insert. Afterwards the 19-year-old said when he hit and uprooted the rock, sending his buggy up into the air, it didnít feel right and the contact with the bail just finished off the damage that had been already done.

I have an Orion Discovery 3Ports and it's very hard if not impossible to tune perfectly, it runs good but never perfect. It's always or rich or on the lean side but never dialed. At the moment the best solution i found is to run it rich.
If the problem is the carb i can stop trying to find the perfect tune.
Bye.

Yeah true, but that was with the original TKI, when just about no MP9 driver was winning anything much at all. Almost 100% of the big-name race wins have come since the TKI2/TKI2 chassis and parts updates were added to the car.

Just my $0.02.

My take on Tebo's engine problem is rather simple. He has a rather slow trigger pull, requires him to tune a lil more on the edge to achieve his desired performance. New Fuel+first nitro big nitro race of year+dropping temps, probably just caught him out and was a lil lean on bottom.

Cav's ran good, Savoya's ran good. I have seen every engine have problems at major races, Orion is no different.

in Lutz's durango defense, the first 3 vehicles off track in the amain were, these uber bullet proof unbeatable MP9's, Boots out, Dylan out, and King came in for some problem.

It would be awesome to see Tebo run an OS Speed or Novarossi.

i have a 3 port and a 5 port and i agree they are a nightmare to tune. Its either pinging at idle or 1 hour rich its flaming out on both of them. It isnt the fuel line tank or anything else it is purely the motor. I have several other motors and none of them do this on same lines car everything the same

You guys are pretty quick to rubbish something that was 'playing up' in just one race, when you don't know the circumstances behind the issue.
It has been a ongoing problem, at the 2010 Worlds Jared would have easily won had it not been for the flame out he suffered. And there have been at least a few other times the engine has let him down. Maybe he should have dropped the engine instead of the fuel. I hear you cant give Orions away due to their difficult nature. A couple of guys here in Aus were running them and soon changed brands.
