Actually got mine in the mail yesterday. It definitely looks the part. Going to hook her up to the charger tonight and see how she does. If everything checks out, this will definitely be the best bang for buck lipo on the market IMO. Paid for on 1/17, delivered on 1/31, exactly 2 weeks.

Had a tire come unglued and tore the stock body to shreds, so replacing it with a Bitty Body. These can be had for pretty cheap on Ebay. Had a bitty back in the day when I ran Mugen so hope it holds up a bit better. Really like the lines though

Had a local paint up a few of them, so no longer sporting the sprint white racing lid.

Haha, ok cool. They most likely add the coating to prevent corrosion while it's going from point-of-origin to point-of-sale. It looks like it's just a black oxide coating, nothing too fancy or thick, just something to prevent surface rusting.

hmmm not sure Sean

the other rotors never rusted but they greased them before packing

the coating does take a while to wear off and in the meantime builds up on tge pads

Yeah, I'm not sure either, just taking a guess. That's true, the slotted and slotted/drilled rotors don't have the black finish on them. Let us know if you find anything out Monty.

Changing gears, I put together a list of part #s and descriptions of all the stuff I like to use to "upgrade" my MP9s. This is just a collection of hard anodized stuff, Ti screws (I use Lunsford Ti turnbuckles), and stuff that doesn't come in the kit. Do I think all of this is absolutely necessary? No way. Is it all on my DNC car? You betcha - the TKI3 Ultimate...

For any of you guys who run the kyosho clutch bells, flywheels and shoes. I posted a bunch of them in the for sale thread along with the kyosho motor mounts. I don't run any of this stuff on my buggy nor truggy. Here is the link

Ron, when i cut the body out I dont follow the body line at the back were it makes the left hand turn in your pic. I let some extra at the bend. just enough so the mud guards do not hit under full compression. Thats the weak point in the body and they will break/ split there. I would suggest a piece of sheetrock tape and a little shoe goo in that area since yours is already cut.
On a side note. I get my bitty bodys painted and then shoe goo another new body inside the painted one since there cheap. It also make for easy clean up after a race day protects the paint job and is super durable.

That's good to know. Yeah, I reinforce mine with sheetrock tape and shoe glue as well. Just haven't done so in this area. Thanks for tip.

like Sean said , none of this is actually necessary but when you like to do things a certain way and build things to "be your own" its just how you do it

Default Kit

Hey question I am ordering a kit next week but I am ordering a body now and some different shock pistons and csi shock bladders. Hope to have my body painted by time I get my buggy kit. But whay I was wanting to know does the buggy come with the gunmetal hubs or is that a upgrade and if its a upgrade whats the benefit. Also does the buggy come with orange rear shock springs or is that something I will need to order.
Thanks

You'll want the IFB006H cab forward body I listed, as well as the IF347-138 shock pistons. Not sure what the advantage of the CSI shock bladders is going to be over the stock "normal" Kyosho bladders, since they look almost identical. I'd gravitate towards the Kyosho bladders, they were designed for the Kyosho shocks. Gun metal hubs - you referring to wheel hexes or the rear aluminum hub carriers? Either way, it comes with both. It also comes with Lt. Blue springs all the way around.
