I'm putting together a TKI3 kit right now and I looks like it came with the front hex's all the way around now.

Really? Mine didn't. Are you sure all 4 of the hexes are the thicker ones?

Same here, I don't think anything's changed.

They are correct, it needs no upgrades out of the box. There are tuning options, which change handling of the car, but that's different than upgrades.

Just got a new TKI3 kit and excited to build it. I had a TKI2 WC and remember having to drill a hole in chassis so clutch bell wouldn't hit during chassis flex. Is this needed for the TKI3?

The TKI3 is for all intents and purposes the exact same car as the TKI2, with the exception of the radio tray/battery box, and the HD shafts. The handling of the two out of the box is identical (assuming the TKI2 has the battery forward mount). I drill my chassis, don't think it's a big deal but it's good added insurance.

Drill your chassis? Can you explain?

I think Sean is talking about the clutch bell rubbing the chassis, so drill out a hole under the bell so it doesn't rub.

That's what I thought you were referring to. I just bought a replacement chassis for the mp9 that I bought used. The old chassis has the hole, I'll drill the new one too.

Thanks!

MAYBE THE ORANGE SPRINGS FRONT AND REAR AND THE YELLOW ONLY REAR ONLY.. AND U REALLY DONT HAVE TO BUY THE SPRINGS JUST THE PISTONS
Pitpop recommended the 93mm shafts in the front. Cody is running this set up. When severe flex occurred my 91mm on one side would pop out.

Also, the small engine mount screws below on the chassis, I now use red threadlock. The blue would not work good enough. I wish they would have made the engine blocks smaller so you could fit a lock nut for added security.

I do have a theory with my issues with engine mount screws coming undone. First of all, the screws that go into the engine blocks that come with the kit may not be long enough.. Also, extended use of a competition heat to warm up the engine, may be the cause of these screws coming undone. My Two Cents...
