What are you shock oil and shock position settings when you guys run on hard packed blown out tracks with tight turns?

Btw, big fan of Kyle and I have him pegged to win in Argentina.

Hey Dan,

Thanks for the compliment!!

Kyle is super pumped about racing in Argentina,as its very similar to what we run on here.

As to set ups we are continually evolving Kyle's race set ups!!

Here's what i would try first on the front:Middle hole on tower, inside on arm, blue spring, 8x1.3 piston, all depending how bad the track is, i would start with 40wt Losi,if its super bad go down to 37.5 Losi, if the front is to grabby, move the shocks to the outer hole on the tower!!

On the rear:Move the shocks up one position from standard on the tower and inside on the arm!! Blue spring, 8x1.3 piston, start with 30wt losi, if super blown out 27.5 or even 25wt Losi

Also try long wheel base and as much front caster as you can get!!

Also try 2.5 degrees rear toe, this will go through the rough stuff far better!!

hope this all helps

Cheers
Scott

Thanks Scott! Regarding caster, do you guys run the bushing at +1 even on tight tracks?

Care to share some of Kyle's setup sheets with us?

Hey Dan,
Its worth a try, its always a juggling act regarding setups, you will gain in one area and lose in another!!But being so rough you may gain through the rough stuff and lose a little on the tight cornering!!

I'm more than happy to share Kyle's set ups, which one in particular were you chasing?

Cheers
Scott

I'm not to familiar with the names of the tracks you run on, but maybe you could share your base setting and then a rough/loose and hard packed/grooved up setting.

Thanks Scott!

All right guys, I love my Mugen's as you can see (sig), but I am toying with the idea of the K-Car? I know the kit doen't need "hop-ups" necesarily, but what would be some necessities to order with new kit? I saw some at the local track and the dogbone would pop out of the outdrive in the rear, so 93mm shafts fixed the problem and also heard of problems with the rear outdrives or something like that?

What is the necessity list if I order a new TKI3?

U DONT HAVE TO GET THE 93MM JUST YET, I GOT A NEW KIT AND HAVE NOT POPPED 1 OUT YET. I WOULD TELL U TO GET THE 1.3 X 8 SHOCK PISTONS, AND U GOT TO ORDER 2 PACKS, 2 PISTONS IN 1 PACKAGE.
MAYBE THE ORANGE SPRINGS FRONT AND REAR AND THE YELLOW ONLY REAR ONLY.. AND U REALLY DONT HAVE TO BUY THE SPRINGS JUST THE PISTONS

If anyone is on the fence about getting a TKI3, they're listed on Amain's Pre Black Friday special page. I got the email, and they're listed at 799. Doesn't get much better than that. Special pricing starts tomorrow at 5am pst.

Pre Black Friday Specials

Regarding the shaft lengths, I think everyone must run them differently . Some guys like Marty Korn run 93mm all the way around, I run 93/91 f/r, Cody runs the same, some guys run 91s all the way around, and apparently some guys run 91/93 f/r! Some guys even run the MP7.5 shafts, and I've heard of guys running the 777 shafts too. The only thing I can say for certain is I've never seen 93s pop out, but I've never seen 91s pop out of the rear either. This is with the narrow track width in the rear. If you run 91s anywhere, be sure to put the shims on first, then install the shaft. 93s, you install the shaft, then add the shims.

Default smaller motor mounts

ha guy's , does anyone no what motor mounts you have to have to be able to use a lock nut and bolt on the motor mount plate. i seen cody kings car has smaller mounts on his car from last years worlds pics on neobuggy. i must have over tightened one of the the small bolt (stripped plate) that holds to the plate. thanks for any info on this matter. its for the tki3 car

I use the standard motor mounts and I took the dremel to them and removed just enough material so I could add an M4 locknut on top of the plate for extra security. works perfectly and you dont need to buy other blocks

The original TKI and all TKI2 kits prior to the WC were supplied with engine mount blocks which were short enough that the locknuts could be used for the engine mount plates. I've no idea when the replacement/spare parts version of the engine mount blocks was changed to the longer version but there was never any change or update to the part number.
