He'll hook you up with all the info you need Dave, but you can be safe in the knowledge that the MP9 is way more forgiving, heaps easier to drive and drive fast and Scott said he had never driven as fast as when he changed over to the MP9, after a few years with Mugen.
had first race with MP9 TKI2 last weekend swapping from the MBX6 not R version i just stuck with the short chassis as it worked for me fine, took a little while to get used to how the Kyosho drives compared to the Mugen but by the final I had sussed it out, the areas I found it was so much better was jumping I always struggled with the mugen but the Kyosho just clears the jumps so easily and fly so well in the air, so far I havent really had much time to try anything settings wise just as it comes out the manual so there is bound to be more to come so for the first outing it was good, generally the Kyosho felt like it steered better than the Mugen also, ride quality was good although I felt I had the Mugen handling well also mainly due to drilling out the 6 hole pistons to make it handle the rough better, I went straight for the 8x1.3mm pistons for the Kyosho as recommended

TKi3 update

- All the pill inserts are fluro yellow
- chassis looks to be the "hard" courted version. its a darker color than my TKi2 was
- Nice sticker set fluro yellow
- HD driveshafts are thick! and now labelled 91H

Default MP9 clutch / spur gear problems

From RC Tech input I made the following changes to my TKI2.

1) Dremelled out my chassis under the clutch bell
2) Installed an Agama engine / chassis brace.
3) Used my old MP777 engine mounts, which are 1 mm higher. With these mounts the gear mesh is much better with the 46/13 gears.

Will be trying it out at Fear Farm on Saturday.

Special thanks to Brian from Buku for all his input.

That definitely looks like the chassis is not the hard anodized version, because as you mention, it is very dark, appears to be the same as my WC kit chassis, which also is not hard anodized. Both WC and TKI3 kits appear to have the standard, dark brown anodizing, which cannot be purchased as a replacement, only comes in the kit. Not like it matters even the slightest as the only difference is purely aesethetic as the only thing the hard anodizing helps with is to not be scratched off the bottom of the chassis so quickly but otyhret than that, there's no difference, certainly zero performance or handling benefits to be had from the HA part.

What I'm interested to know is about this new front shock tower with somehow altered camber and also if you got the new rear tower as all of the 'publicity' shots of the car show a new rear tower that is essentially the same as that from the WC kit, because it's also different from the new IF408B part as the TKI3 doesn't have the weight saving holes milled out, they are just grooves, but don't go all the way through the shock tower.

How was the new servo tray with it's (finally!!) STRAIGHT/LINED UP steering servo? Was it super quick and easy to get the servo horn neutral position adjusted correctly?

His rear tower has the holes in it so it's not the wc tower like it shows on the tki3 box

Hmmm... very strange indeed coz all of the shots from the various Kyosho sites (Japan, US, UK, France, etc) show a new rear tower with no holes, WC style. Also, not too sure about those fluro yellow decals, it was great I thought, the way Kyosho supplies variations on their original decal sheet, with the red, white and black versions of each decal.

- rear tower is the same as my tki2 spec A kit with the extra holes for inner camber
- front tower does not have as much milled out as tki2. as for the camber I can't tell by looking at it
- radio tray is perfect for steering now, nice and straight
