That...like most everything else is a matter of opinion. Personally, I believe it's mostly due to the fact that most people don't have the patience or desire to learn all the skills involved with competively driving a 1/10 truck...gas or elec.. It takes the average person a number of hard fought years to figure out how to set one up and how to drive one. And with setup and throttle control being crucial in 1/10....most people give up before they ever really get started. It's just too hard and complicated for most people...waaaay easier to buy a 4wd and save themselves the trouble of having to learn so much stuff before they can go fast. Sadly, they don't realize how much useable knowledge they will miss by jumping right into 4wd. I have raced 1/10 gt on some tracks that had holes in it so big my truck would disappear in....and jumps....well....everyone knows how tracks are built now days. Just cause the jump is there doesn't mean you have to fly over it.

Bottom line is this...if you know how...you can set your 1/10 2wd truck up to race on any track.

Didn't mean to get my soap box out....sorry.

Default MT & gas truck

Would`nt doubt that most of the pro`s hardly even race either class before this race ...

The factory support for these class`s really does not exist & is only superficial at best ....
Any driver can copy a great set up, a Champion however will steal it .
If Jesus returned as a Rc car he be a Rc10 B5M

Skeller, I would have to agree with your points as well. Bad thing is we have lost many of the more experienced guys over the years due to getting married and having families, more demanding jobs, etc. Many of the current racers started with rtr cars so they missed out on the setup/building experience. I see it in all forms of r/c racing right now so its up to us oldies to help them out whenever the chance pops up. I still remember my first RC10 back in 1986, it had an A&L belt drive tranny, Hough trailing arm chassis and scratch built shock towers, Kyosho gold shocks, etc. LOL
