We used the Associated Green Slime. It works, but when I replaced the old style black ones with the new white ones, I didn't need it. I just got them wet with the shock oil as I installed them. They haven't leaked at all since...

make sure the spacers that go inbetween the o-rings are not worn out and bad, as they can cause some problems also.

Also since this was used, the shock shafts might have extreme wear and tear. Check that scratches or gouges are not all over the shaft. It might be time for new shock shafts.
