This is why I love this forum...perspective boys, and we all have it. To clarify, he supplied the bodies, I supplied the CASH! I think this guy does top notch work under normal circumstances. I just want him to admit this is subpar in comparison and make it right. Your "perspectives" have kept me in line so I don't go postal. This is a hobby, and I am not expecting perfection, but you guys must admit this is pretty shotty work.

I am not standing up for this painter. But a blemish here and there is going to happen and perfection shouldnt be expected (at least not for that kind of money). And for a forty five to fifty dollar paint job(maybe less, that price may include shipping as well?),as you said the body was included in the total price. I would call it a wash and avoid this painter in the future. Most painters who paint rc bodies are seriously under paid in the first place. Most people do not know how much time and effort go into a nice paint job (maybe not in this particular case). Most painters make less then min. wage, when you deduct the cost of materials used and time spent. My suggestion would be to look for a new painter and to remember you get what you pay for. Goodluck.

+1 on darkdesign.net! He's a great guy and does excellent work! He paints for several of the US top drivers, including several top AE factory drivers!

I gotta say looking at the pictures on the site and of your body, I would not have paid more then $50 including the body. The lines for the most part are crisp, but its all basic designs with flames and some carbon fiber effects tossed on top. Not saying I could do it, but this is one I did sunday for myself below. I wouldnt charge $50 for it though.

Mr McGoo does great work also I like the stuff that charlie b from CFX does and WED Jim's work.

I have gotten all my custom painted bodies from Chuck at Ridgewaybodies.

All of his work is excellent. He has a quick turn around time and keeps some bodies in stock ready for paint.

Guys, please keep your thoughts coming as that is the only way us normal citizens will have a voice when dealing with non-responsive vendors.

Update: I heard from him today and of course I am the bad guy, and he assumes that I am bashing him. I don't think that is the case at all. I simply supplied sufficient pressure so as to elicit the desired response, i.e. replace the bodies with what I ordered. I think he does quality work, hence the reason for me ordering the bodies from him in the first place.

At any rate, it appears this is going to work itself out, so thanks to all that lent their voices to this thread!

rcjunky10 I think thats a pretty shoddy job myself, bad masking and that last picture link made me lol.

I wouldnt be too happy, ide sell them IMO and get a new lid and some one else to do them. Especialy if you didnt get what you asked for with the skulls and stuff, thats just slack IMO.

now I take it the $70.00 is for the body and paintwork, so I would have to say that this paint job is a lil off but there is alot of work done to it, first thing this paint job has 7 colors two different designs in the paint and a stencil set of the X-ray logo to me that's alot of work for painting, cutting and triming, now if the logo wasn't there then I would expect better work but those logos take time and I don't do them unless they pay more for it murals and ghosting take and extra hr. sometimes to make sure you don't have too much overlap. So if this is a $70.00 combo then that's a deal beacause a body is what about $25.00 , me being a painter also can feel for this guy when you have one thing on top of another on top of another. So when you get a hold of him let him understand that your paintjob could have been a lil tighteron the work and minus the logo.

that's my $75.00 job with body
