How do you guys clean your chrome exhaust system? I read some guys use a crock pot and antifreeze.... I thought I read it that you could use oven cleaner...is that accurate? I have an OS Speed 2060 so before I go f'ing it up can I get some input from the collective?

I have seen more people saying to use the antifreeze and a crock pot. Leave it in for like 30mins.

Do the antifreeze and the crock pot. It is no where near as corrosive as oven cleaner. The Easy Off will take the anodized clear coat off your pipe.
I have never had a problem with the antifreeze being too corrosive.

i just did the #0000 steel wool thing on my pipe the other night (OS 2050)....it did work well, but made a friggin' mess outa my work area..lol. Tons of little metal "strands" everywhere, including in the pipe, which got a GOOD rinsing soon after.....

With some elbow grease and patience though, it only took about 30 minutes to get it nice and shiny!

if you wipe your pipe off after every few runs it should stay nice for a long time.

When mine gets bad i just polish it with a dremel polishing kit...

Carbuerator chem dip works very well too. Dulls the finish a bit though so you need to polish it afterwords.

That's why I keep a piece of 0000 steel wool in my pit bag in a zip-lock baggie. If you stay on top of it, the pipe will stay new looking.
