yeh all my 808's and now my XB9 are done like this.. you need the foam compensator between the bladder and the cap though.. and I still use the losi foams reshaped a bit with a dremel cause the xray ones seem to get crushed and lose their rebound real quick..

Yeh not the best the xray ones, like pancakes when they come out.

Made up some of my own with some better foam.

I would guess so .. just remove one bladder , or use a spare, and shape a piece of foam to fit inside it.. basically a hemisphere.. for the price I'd just buy the losi ones.. I've been running a set of those for 2 years in my 808 with zero deformation or compaction.Just to note they have a shiny sealed side and a "foamy" side.. (you'll see what I mean if you look at a set) the shiny side needs to go down towards the membrane .. ie this is the side you trim and shape.. otherwise it seals the hole in the cap and doesn't let air pass in and out.

I'm curious what shocks fit the 2009 808.....? Would Jq products shocks fit? or maybe there are some other after market shocks compatible with the 2009 spec?

Whut for? 808 shocks are far better than everything short of the Xb9. I'vehad excellent luck tuning xray shocks, I'm struggling with Mugen shocks.

Xb9 shocks bolt right up.

the reason is there is a 808 roller with no shocks going for the cheap $100. I was just seeing if it would be worth it.

Absolutely!

Get:
-Xb9 shocks (best shocks in all of RC)
-3 stripe front and rear springs
- +1mm and/or +2mm rear hubs for tuning

Try:
-full rear droop. -5mm front droop
-7/7/3 diffs
-1.2x6 Xray tapered pistons (comes with the Xb9 shcoks
-shortish rear camber links
-medium wheelbase everywhere

The only downside is changing the pinion bearings religiously every three race dayson the 808. There is no real fix for this, just do it as part of routine maintenance.

You can also add Xb9 rear end parts, but that isn't really needed unless you want more rear droop than the full droop the 808 allready has or you want to adjust rear toe/antisquat.

I think they're waiting for the 2013 model to arrive.

I've been out of 1/8 for a few years...

I have an xb808 2010spec that I want to start racing again....

What upgrades/parts should I buy for it now that the xb9 is out?

The towers are different, but what's special about the shocks? I have 3 sets of the 808 shocks...

Are there any other shocks that people have tried? I would rather not spend $150 on a set of shocks for a $100 buggy...

Default Easy solution to the Xray droop problem

Just lay the shocks all the way in on top on the lower row of holes, and in on the arms. Just take the droop screws out as you will be at max droop. This will yield you enough droop for most any condition out there. Any more then this, then the car will start potentially rolling too much and handling and braking stability will be jeopardized.

Hi

l will steal this tread little bit .

l searched everywhere but no answer . l have little problem.l converted my old XB8TQ to electric but l cant find correct settings especially with shocks . The car weights 4060g and drives really bad on track . lt hits bottom on small jumps , if l raise ride height to maximum it still bottoms and feels like gum . Also the rear end spins quickly , the local track is tehnical with 2 big jumps and ground is dusty/slippery . what would be the best setup , shock oil and pistons , l also have spare 808 big bore shocks but rear shocks are shorter .
l really hope l will find the right answer

Regards , Marko
