I've only had Xray's, but you won't have that problem with an 808.

i have ran both cars.. and i cas say imo that the 808 is better in durability by a mile. As i went to the track today and did nothing but 3hrs worth of testing and found out that with a little rebound in the front shocks and losing the the hing pins up to have about 2thousands play on the arms makes the 808 a fast mo fo car. has all the steering u need and has TON and i mean TONS of exit steering. id say the 808 is a better suited car for me the rc8 is good but if i had to tell someone wich way to go id say 808... now 2 days ago i would of sold mine but not no more got it working like it should and its on.

I have both, and race both, the Xray has only about 2 races and a gallon ran through it, Nothing broken at all it's solid . The rc8 has 3 races and 3 gallons ran through it ,I have gone through front up arms and lower arms and a tank , not a big deal ,the car handles with the best of them . I am going to keep both cars ,I like both cars alot...

you will not have premature wear on the 808...I ran the xray truggy last year and put about 10 gallons on him and I had ALL of the original drivetrain, outdrives, and CVD's on him..the outdrives were worn a bit, but the Hudy Spring Steel is second to none imo...I currently have an STRR with the Chomeoly drivetrain (supposed to be THE best), but honestly, I think it will wear faster then the Xray Hudy Spring Steel did...

So the 808 is broken. I was exiting the pits and stupidly cut across. A friend tagged the right rear tire, and sheared the hub in half. The wheel, bearings and CVD were still in place Just ordered 2 more rear hubs...

Since all this talk about the 808 body lately, I have a question.

Does anyone else have/had a issues with the header pipe, bubbling the lexan on the body. The first time I raced it, I was running my JP3 pipe, and after the first heat, the header melted/bubbled the body. My other pipes didn't touch the body, just the JP3.

I cut the body to make room for the times I run that pipe.

I was curious if anyone else had this occur?

My RB2045 is mounted as low as it can go, it has dents in the bottom from the side guard mounting screws and the body has melted above the pipe.
