2.) Tried the aluminum wing mount braces. DING! those fit nicely.

3.) Tried the Racer's Edge hardcoated sway bar mounts (same color as other hard coated bits on 808)...DING! those are another perfect fit! (though they have a slightly different fillet on the top corners. They look pretty slick on there.

that was the extent of my tests...im sure there are other things that will transfer over. I really want to check the center diff top plate...maybe tonight i'll check that.

My current project involves the part sizing from the EC to the 808. Both cars are stripped down to bare bones. I'm going to start the re-builds in the morning. Off hand I do know that the; center diff assembly, shock towers, wing brace, fuel tank, servo saver, front servo mounting braces, battery tray are all a direct fit. Curious to see anything that will be interchangeable as I have MANY spare parts from my EC and next to nothing for my 808.

Hey guys, I'm trying to buy an 808 but they seem pretty rare at the moment.
Anybody know somewhere reliable I can but one online?

I'm finding the same thing myself... almost every online shop has them on back order.... I assume that they are just waiting on the next shipment out of the factory...

I guess the good thing about them being sold out is that they are in huge demand, and shows how good they are

Check E-Bay too. I saw one sold the other day for a great price...

Call RC America, and get the US dealer list that have purchase a good amount of 808's, and let your fingers do the walking....

There out there, a racer I know bought one just a few days ago on the web.

Doesn't Xray send out a new shipment every two weeks ?

If the stores are out again , only have to wait a couple of weeks .

Not sure on that one but this one fits perfect and is a pretty trouble free lipo that holds up well.

I've been running mine in up and down the street to break in the new motor. So no track time yet. It seem to me that the front is WAY soft. When I gas it the front id fighting to keep on the ground andc when I brake it just dives. Is this normal? Hard to tell how it handles till I get to the track later.

have there been any reported 'throttle servo issues' with the 808 ?

after trying everything, today my losi 8ight killed its 3rd high end KO throttle servo... so i'm considering a switch to an 808.

also... how similar is the 808 to a 8ight to drive ? I love the agility and jumping ability of my 8ight.. just hate replacing servos

just wait until you try it on the track before changing anything! The weight transfer on the 808 compared to the EC is much more noticed, if its too much on the track you can stiffen up the sway-bar setting or increase ride height or go up in weight of your shock oil... by try it first on the track it WILL shock you how well it handles. it does exactly what its told!!

I think Losi has a major problem with the ALL plastic servo tray... too many reports of burning servos and nothing done to fix the problem... I fried three of them myself in the 8T... but seriously comparing the Losi to Xray is like comparing apples to oranges... they both taste good but have their differences! The suspension layout design is similar but for handling Id choose the 808... way more stable and balanced, lighter, stronger, faster... and most of all the support form the racing team and many others that love Xray!
