I broke in and raced mine for the first time at the last JBRL race in Hesperia. As everyone who is lucky enough to own one knows, the 808 turns, accelerates!!!, brakes and jumps like nothing else. I have been running Kyosho for years (K2,K3,WC,STR,RR)...this is my first Xray and I am 100% satisfied with this quality machine...thanks Xray!!!

This buggy is tough...I managed to do several violent cartwheels and landed right on the shock tower with no damage. The winds at Hesperia really took the 808 for a flight and it still managed to make it with no damage! People commented on how other cars/truggies were breaking doing the same acrobatic maneuvers.

Stock setup is too twitchy/reactive for me so I changed my diffs to 5k-5k-3k and run the bowcrime combo with much better results for my driving style.

Wish I could make it to Rev this wkend. I will be at the Hemet JBRL race. Hope to see more 808's out there.

Regards,
MEL

The Pro-Teck 2300mah lipo stick pack works awesome in the buggy. Perfect fit as if designed for it! Fits right in the battery section of the radio box.

what do you do with the 6V-regulator? mount it outside the box or is the temperature no problem?

is there a regultor with cut-off? i only know that some have little LEDs, but you ofcourse can not see them while driving so it is not safe in my opinion.

I run my protech lipo reg. on the outside. It's shoegoo'd on the underside of my radio tray along w/ my personal transponder. I cut a small hole in the reciever box for all the wires. My personal transponder is in front of the reg. They are sid by side of the throttle servo. I heard it is good to keep it outside to alow air to it. I run the regulator facing down so I am not distracted by the obnoxious green light!!!! This worked good on my RC8 and even better on my XRAY808.

On another sumbject. I am building a Kyosho truggy for a guy. All I can say is I will never buy anything but an Xray again. Best quality, and enginering out there. And this is the first 1/8 I have bought in the last 3 years that needs NO hop up or after market parts........

Escalade:

What is up with your shocks preload adjusters? Did you not put the o-ring inside the adjuster? It appears your o-ring is outside...and you have installed them upside down

Hey troublemaker, you plan on going to Madness on Sunday to see if BOB the builder can nail some pipes?

Or, are you prohibited from crossing state lines with that ankle bracelet?

My P.O. won't let me this weekend....they got me cleaning up trash with the guys from MCI Framingham

weathers lookin' iffy anyway. But if you got some chloroform and a dirty rag, we may be able to "put him to sleep" for a couple hours, anyway.
