As for difference between steel & graphite is down to choice, I find the steel smoother & more reliable so use these all the time.
The graphite can be more aggresive, for me found these where not as reliable & got allot of fade after a few runs. Some have better luck with these & run them all the time but its not for me. But remember to run the hardened steel brake pads.
Got me confused there....I am talking about steel brake pads and graphite disks....does this combination need the pad ferodos?

The difference you re talking about between steel and graphite is for the disks right?

So you use steel brake pads without the pad ferodos and steel disks?

Your confusing yourself - here is the deal.

Steel brake rotors (discs) - use the stock steel shoes with the ferodo pads glued on.

X-Ray graphite, Avid Phenolic or any other brand of graphite rotor (disc) - use the hardened steel shoes with no linings attached.

Easy I beleive it tells you this on the packaging that comes with the graphite rotors (discs).

Ok, they finally switch back to the bullet proof center drive shafts and bulkheads. I hope it's 2 8X16 bearings in there.

I sure hope there are more significant updates to the 808 to keep up with the latest and the incoming crop of new buggies...

If we all shout loud enough on the features that we wanted they might just hear us...

2011 main updates:
• New chassis <-- To reduce flex perhaps?
• New and improved handling <-- New hubs, caster blocks, steering blocks? More droop?
• New suspension geometry <-- adjustable hinge pin holder?
• New improved weight balance <-- move the CG to a more forward position?
• New diff bulkheads <-- a 100% SEALED gearbox finally?
• New central drivetrain system <-- back to XB8's system or something more advance?
• New central drive shafts <-- I am betting the 808 11 spec center diff will be placed closer to the centerline of the chassis
• New pinion gears <-- 808's Achilles heel finally solved?
• New diff ball-bearings <-- No more chewed up diff bearings?
• New shock -rings <-- o-rings that does not leak? Longer shocks perhaps?
• New rear brace <-- to accommodate the new drivetrain system?
• New front and rear alu suspension holders <-- FINALLY!!!
• New composite eccentric bushings
• New suspension pins
• New high-downforce body <-- XRAY version of Bulldog, yeehaa!!
• New lightweight diff outdrives <-- Previously an option part, now a stock part
• New graphite radio plate <-- Definitely a more forward weight distribution!

Go XRAY go!!

I'm hoping for a sgnificant update to the XT8. Not that there is anything wrong with the current XT8. It's just getting a little long in the tooth. Its still basically the original design.
