So your saying you drive perfect and dont make mistakes. You have any jumps like these at your track? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m47sJ...eature=related The boot/grease mod is to pack grease around the opening to keep dirt away from the bearing and prevent premature bearing failure. Does the manual say use that much grease for a cvd pin assembly lol.

No need to go thru the history on the bearings and why this mod is being done. Ill take my chances with losing a driveshaft than losing a diff and pinion. Your in a qualifier and lose a driveshaft, ok just put it back on, get ready for the next qualifier, but if you grind up a diff and pinion, good luck with that see you next race unless you have spares. If Xray Drivers are running it, Hence the pics of Josh Wheelers car on Neobuggy then there must be a reason why. I am sure your car does not spin well if you grease your diffs like the youtube video posted somewhere in this thread as I did it and it causes lots of drag. Each to their own though. Im loving it right now car rolls so smooth seems like it has a "FREAKY FIRST STEP" haha
I drive that track with my Xray 808. I've cased that jump more then a few times. Lawn darted when landing into the face of the jump. I have an xray 2009. What i've broke because of that jump has been a front diff case splitting by the front shock tower (still finished). I've bent rear hub hing pins from 1 tire landings (finished). Only thing I've broke on that jump I did not finish from on the Xray was I broke the plastic end piece on a front turnbuckle that connects to the front shock tower from a one wheel front landing on a shock setup that was to soft.

That is not the main reason for the change over for me, it was more of maintenance and to free up the drive train. But someone mentioned the impact of landing so I showed the guy some of the jumps we deal with. Have a local friend that replaced brand new bearings ran them one day. Brought the car out again another day and diff bearings went out very minimal hours on them. You racing the next HARC on the 11th?

If you can afford Hitec 7950, a lil cheaper but equally as good, hitec 7955.

I ran my 808 with modded drivetrain on tuesday...one word...phenominal!

It took a little bit to get used to as the car rolls really well. The car turns really well. No brainer IMO!

Xray almost always does their new product announcements arround the toy show in Germany. That's in February. Then the kits start showing up a few weeks to a few months later.
