Well I am sort of an 8th scale rookie but I got to run my 808 for the first time this weekend. It was the first time I have ran 8th scale since October. The car was pretty damn good right out of the box with the kit setup on it. I was WAY easier to drive than my RC8 was last year or my Losi eight. The biggest thing I noticed was how good it jumped. Very nimble and easy to drive!

A buddy of mine (Dan Reino) ran his for the first time this weekend as well after running an 8ight and RC8 last year and early this year. The first week with the 808 he went about 4 seconds faster in Qual in poor track conditions than he has with any of the other buggies.

I would say that Xray has hit a homer with this car!

Has any one built theirs with tight Diffs asmy mates seems tight . Upon going into a corner it wants to spin out and on power. Its not the springs either.
Just curious what diff oils you suggest.
Thanks...

Default 808 setup

Try:
Front 5k
Center5k
Rear2k

That diff setup should settle it down quite a bit. But before you do that......

I would first make these adjustments if your loose.

- Move the rear inner camber link (rear roll center) to the #2 position.

- Make sure you don't have too much rear camber, no more than 2 degrees..
This will help keep more contact patch of the tire touching the ground when the car squats or lowers on power in the rear.

- Dial a half turn more pre-load into the front shocks.

Let us know!

The local pro driver at my lhs got his built a day before I did. He put his/ mine on a setup station and realized that the caster/camber was way off out of the box. We dumped our stock fluids after only a few tanks, and switched the center and rear to losi 5k. The buggy went from loose in the rear, to extremely planted, both on and off power.

Rocco and others are great drivers. They also drive different than the average/above average weekend racer. For those that aren't in the class of Rocco, Jason, etc., try a thicker rear fluid, and lighter center. I think you will find that the 808 handles alot better for ppl that do not have the experience the pro guys have.

Yo man! APPARENTLY, if you ask somebody to run and get McDonalds and a couple people ask for 20 pieces, a 50 piece Chicken McNugget will show up, DELICIOUS, hahaha!

I run the Avid Indos in my car with the 354121 XRAY hardened brake pads, so its just steel on phenloic.

However, the car took off, left the track went 50 yards then came back down the otherside of the track and went into the woods. From what I seen nothing broke. I was looking at the build, manual, etc and it is truly nice!

Car looks great guy!

Appreciate the feedback, I would have thought you had a close enough look at it when you took me out at Silver State right when I got the lead from Paul Coleman with 30 sec left on the clock!!! Haha!

Hope to race with you again this year!

DDDUUUDDDEEE, try the bow-fighter setup, Crimes in the front with bow ties in the back, for some reason, this car LOVES it! And in M3, oh my goodness, the car couldn't get any better!

Again, this "BoB" thing really must go........

But to answer your question, both companies are making a body for the 808. Should be available soon from both...

I kinda like "BOB;" no other car has a pet name, so it gives the XRAY something unique.

Besides, it makes for an infinite number of neat catch-phrases, like "BOB sweeps the euros" or "BOB cruises to victory at the 1/8 IFMAR championships" <--which it will... Right??
