I have watched many driver videos the past few days and I notice that mostly when turning they don't slide and just take the corner very smoothly. Unlike them, as you can see from the above video, I slide into alot of the corners.

Now does this happen due to my driving or due to the track surface?

I mean maybe I shouldn't be trying to mimic all those drivers on this track OR on the other hand I should be trying to mimic their driving despite the track surface.

Thanks

Well its a combination of things...in your case it looks like lack of traction and going into the corner too fast. You want to break before the turn enough that your car can rotate the corner off power and then find the sweet spot where you can begin to apply the throttle smoothly either mid corner or corner exit with out pushing. Takes practice and lots of it to get it just right. I run the active in front so I have tons of off power steering so I let my buggies momentum off power carry me through the turn with out sliding then smooth on the throttle out of the turn. There is a small amount of blipping that still occurs even with the pros from time to time but you want to try to limit it. My .02 hope it helps!

Have you seen it in person? I can tell you as I have seen it in person, it is awesome. I have a proline bulldog, I like, it but they always seem to crack around the turnbuckle area where the steering links are and I prefer the narrow cab of this body.

On the new 2010 spec 3 bearing pinion setup the supplemantery sheet which shows you how to put the 3 bearings together shows an optional part number for the shim that can be put infront of the bearing where the three screws hold the inner bearings.

Does anyone have the dimensions for that shim, I need the OD and ID and thickness please in MM if possible.

Thanks

16x20x0.5mm but I bought some heli ones that are even better..14x20x0.1 link to them was posted on here a while back but I'll see if I still have the link.

edit..here ya go had to sift back through a few thousand emails to find my order..these are what I use and they are great..handle them gently though as they bend easy and they are twice the thickness of the xray ones.I leave the rubber seal on the inside of my inner bearing to keep the grease in and just once it popped off and the shim held it fine..just pushed it back at the next grease service.

Thx giz....

I just got back from Thailand yesterday after some serious testing on the 2010 spec.

I drove the same track at nitro party and it was hard enough, the new WC track is way way more technical and more complicated the pictures do no justice to what it really is when drivin on it.

I did come up with a very good setup for the WC as my times got below the 50's.

The funny thing is the track requires 3 types of setup in various conditions, wet dry and oily each has it's own setup, otherwise the time will vary drastically.

Now comparing the 2010 to 2009 spec, the car just felt much more planted compared to the 2009, the shock loosing rebound with the new bladder itself just fixed the issue completely, I did not even have to put any foam inserts on the bladder to keep the shock from fading.

The shocks kept their rebound with 4 hours of non stop running.

Just to make sure that my setup was correct, I noticed another team had some issues with their setup and I offered them some advise and gave them my setup, their laptimes went from 52's to 47's, so am well pleased with what I have come up with so far.

Am just a bit concerned with the 3 bearing setup really do hope Xray will put an end to this, as I did have 3 instances with the bearing seal popping out.

Did not stop the car at all it ran fine, the pop out was due to bad head on landing on the doubles and thats after 6 hours of running without a maintenance interval.

If only xray fixes this once and for all, there is no stopping to this buggy for sure.

Bren ralls mod held fine with nothing breaking apart, will see how it does during practise in a couple of days at the WC.

np dude..buy a couple or four packets of those heli shims..at 14mm inside diameter on the 13mm pinion there is no way at all the seal can fall into the pinion/crown gears.Like I said mine was out the last time I did a grease change and i just used one of the spare seals I had removed from the center bearing as the loose one no longer fitted that tight.greased and put everything back..no problems..i got over 6 hours hard race time on each of my 3 bearing set ups now and bearings still like new.The dust boot mod sure helps keep everything clean too.
