according to the manufacturer-homepage the MAX-engine weighs only 330g. RB and OS are around 360g i think.

The car works better with less droop try it and you will see. If the track is really ruff maybe a little more droop but not much.

No need to apologise. My XT8 is 4358g, I guess Tim's is 4320, not 3320

I use it to reinforce my body and protect my paint, I'll snap a pic of the inside of my body to show you where I do it. I can run 1 body for the whole season doing this. I don't add that fiberglass tape, as some others do tho...

Yeah, its what I ran at Silver State on my prototype car and when I built my production car, I measured the shock tower mounting positions to ensure I would have the same geometry and it is. But it does look weird but with this car so sensitive to setup (which i LOVE) that weight transfer (which is the only thing droop controls) means A LOT to the the setup.

I had a few other small issues. First issue I had a RHCS bolt with a crushed hex in it, not really Xrays fault, just stuck a SHCS in its place. They supplied the wrong size bolt for one of the mounting holes for the bottom of my center diff mount, the spare parts bag solved this issue. and one other issue the pipe hanger was too large in diameter for my dynamite 086 pipe so I just ground down the end to fit inside the hole.

Did anyone install the pipe protector? I did, but thought it was kinds goofy to be cutting holes in the side protector for it, but no biggy.
The wire is too big for the Max Power pipes too, I just drill the pipe out, because I'm likely to have different pipes over the life of the car/pipe hanger. I personally don't run the stinger guard (unless I run the thin Max Power pipes) the nuts that secure it to the side guard can also beat up the bottom of the pipe, so heads up!

A bunch of 5g add up to a lot of grams tho!

The -2mm number in the book is used IF you are using the Hudy setup station. You set the chassis on the 30mm thick blocks then the bottom of the hub should be at the -2 step on the droop gauge. If you are not using the Hudy setup station then I would suggest using Rocco's Center to Center length for the shocks.

I asked XRAY to put a shock length section in the setup manual and the setup sheet, but nope, who cares about being UNIVERSALLY EASY TO UNDERSTAND!!!

Crime - Good lookin' ride bud! Those one color paint schemes are bummers!

How's the Losi starter box mate up with the 808 chassis? Any modifications needed to be done? If so, what? I would like to have everything ready to go when mine arrive.

Thanks....

Ya, I understand that. TC has taught me much more about setup than offroad ever has. The Hudy Setup station does not come with the droop blocks btw, only the camber and toe plates.

Friend of mine was starting his 808 off a Losi box the other day. Dropped right on no mods needed. The box was starting both cars all night!
