Steve, yeah... i know for a fact that the XRAY with worth every penny quality wise and you give great examples with the 777 and MBX5r and thats why i dont have one of those either. Im sure they will sell plenty but although i really wanted one I couldn't justify the cost. But anyone that really knows me knows im the cheapest human on earth on certain things.
TMizzle, being price conscience is not a bad thing IMO. There are different things in my life I won't spend $5.00 extra for, but will spend $100.00 on Nirto racing 
I guess I just like to keep the economy strong in the Nrito industry..

Xray is from the Czech Republic or Slovenia (one of the eastern bloc countries) are they part of the EU and use the Euro? If not then it might not be bad for them. They'll price it to be competitive in the US market even if it means losing some profit compared to the European market.

Trust me, the thought crossed my mind. So does the Losi on the pinons... it uses the same metric bearings as the Kyosho, Mugen, XRAY, etc. and the center CVD's are the ones that wear so fast. I've already been told a Mugen one will fit.
Hmmmm... last time it was a SHATTERED clutch bell. Missing about 3 teeth and I could see the bearings from the side.
So the BOB uses different bearings on the pinion gears?

Yes, it uses a larger diameter bearing to capture the cross pin with the bearing's inner race like the Losi uses on it's hub carriers. The Losi uses much smaller than conventional pinion bearings and a much more conventional universal coupling. The 808's pinion and CVD coupling are one piece of metal. You can see it in the closeups on Xray's site. It's a pretty slick arrangement.
