I'm highly doubt they fit. Sounds like your LHS is pushing you stuff they want to get rid of. Try another place, you might be at the wrong LHS.

This is a just a guess, but a lot of shops are trying to reduce their inventory to recoup capital. RC America has given shops permission to sell XRAY's top kits for less than MAP. The same may be true for A Main, but I don't know. You should just ask them. See what they say.

the LHS is full of racers behind the counter and is a good place, but they all race losi. plus they beat online prices 90% of the time.

Doug,
I do not think those hingepin holders fit the 808. The old inserts will work with the new holders though.
We do carry the Kingshead engine mounts for the 808. They are half the price of the Xray branded ones.
See you at the track,
TEX

+1. I think with the economy, many shops are a little heavy with inventory. A-Main has the MBX6 (And others) on sale too. IMO a great time to pick up a 808 if someone was looking for a great race buggy for the 2009 season.

Great, leave it to Losi racers to tell you what will fit on an Xray 808. The chassis for the 808 is much too narrow for the old XB8 EC hinge pin holders to have the specific suspension geometry. The 808 holders are much wider.

Doug,

Get with Rocco hey runs for Xray and works at RcAmerica and can get you pointed in the right direction on the car. As far as I know NO the XB8 hinge pin holders wont fit the 808...enjoy! Im assuming your running at Indy since its the winter season and I know for a fact Rocco will be there this winter racing.

The old hinge pin inserts are about .010 narrower then the ones that come with the 808 hinge pin holders. They do not fit flush with the hinge pin surface when installed so if you have the arm moved forward or backwards against the holder it will not have a flat surface to move against.
