Yep.. $400.. I'm thinking of getting one of these instead of a Mugen now. How easy is it to get parts for it?

There's over half a dozen shops online that I get parts from. I bounce back and forth depending who has tires on sale. I rebuilt my buggy for the winter because I got sick of looking at my spares! I swear NOT ONE broken part EVER on my 808. Only DNF was due to clutch failure.DOH!

Will you actually buy one if I take the time to explain it?

Just thought i would post the weight of my 808 as i have seen postings around stating that they're under the 3.2kg minimum out of the box.

I don't know how those cars were weighed but mine was done on scales at work that are accurate to two decimal places.

Parts unique to my car are the Ninja JX21 B01, Futaba S9351 servos (x2), Spektrum DX3R reciever, AMB transponder and 1600Mah stick NiMh battery. Obviously things like plastic gear servos will be lighter and smaller batteries and different engines are possibly going to be lighter.

As you can see there is a difference in wheel and tyre combinations. GRP tyres are premounts on GRP rims and ProLine tyres are on Associated rims. All are brand new.

I also weighed a bald Crime Fighter tyre on Wabash rim and it was only 1gm lighter than the Bow Tie on AE rim!

X-Ray 808 2846.14gm
GRP Atomic 505.34 = 3351.48 Heaviest
GRP Grip 435.38 = 3281.52 Lightest
ProLine Bow Tie 471.86 = 3318.00
ProLine Crime Fighter 483.96 = 3330.1

What do everyones 808's weigh and what do the competition weigh? Mugan, HB D8, Associated, etc, etc??

Cheers,

Dazza

Be careful with the Microsoft Live Cashback program. Customers have been reporting problems with Cashback.

I would imagine the system was overwhelmed on Black Friday. I got my money back already on one purchase and $200 pending on an HPI Baja Purchase. I'm tempted to buy that XRAY on E-blag right now for $571, I'd get something like $175 back on that purchase.

I bought a buggy on ebay the other day and the 30% was refunded instantly. I have made several other purchases and they are shown as pending in my live account but the last 2 purchases were instant. So I can vouch for those thinking it doesnt work.

On the weight topic: I was racing at a 2 day event in California a month or so ago and I kept blowing weight in my 808. The major weight changing hopup I have is the aluminum axles all around. Those are waaaay lighter than the stock steel. I also removed the steel brake disks and changed to phenolic. I also had panther raptors on xray wheels and kept hitting the 3100g mark. I added 1 lead weight to the battery box and switch to AKA I-beams and I finally made weight, barely. Xray is definately light

My 808 ready to put on the track (minus fuel), as teched, weighs:
3150g
This is 50g underweight...
The tires I use depend on how much weight I have to add to the car.

My Car's setup:
808, Max C5Q (drilled heatsink) w/ Sirio 2013, AKA Gridirons, Unregulated 1500mAh 2S lipo, aluminum turnbuckles oh yeah!, aluminum pivot balls, aluminum axles, aluminum hinge pin holders, aluminum c-hubs, stock engine mount, graphite front upper plate, stock middle diff plate, aluminum shock nuts and aluminum lock-nuts where I can.
