Beautiful. Somehow the bodies always look better after they are pinned on the buggy. It looks like you wet they pavement for added effect like in movies and commercials.

If you read the same issue of Xtreme R/C, the Traxxas Slash got higher or equal ratings, so sorry guys, we no longer have the off-road car to get! The Slash is stronger, has equal fit and finish as well as handling, and better instructions according to them?!

Somebody needs to bring the credibility of the reviewers and how they're done into question at some point.

R/C Car is turning into my favorite as well, it's a magazine who's employees race the cars! Like RC America, only one employee here hasn't raced, everybody else either races now, or as raced. Heck even the owner used to race all the time haha!

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest...

So how about them 808's!!!

UNSTABLE - That's badass for spray can! What did you use to mask it? I tried liquid mask and spray can being too lazy to clean my airbrush for a base coat, and it was a DISASTER!

In my opinion, the problem with most of the magazines is they are not prepared to give any product a poor review, even if it deserves it. Because the same products that they review are sold by the same manufacturers that buy AD space in their magazines.

I've had a RC Car Action subscription for years, I just renew it for novelty.

There's still good articles in magazines like How to's and what not, but a magazine is not the place to look for honest reviews.

Exactly, since we may advertise 5-8% of what Traxxas does...... Haha, but sine they're in a magazine they do carry some 'assumed' credibility, which is unfortunate.

That's one thing I do like about these guys, and is why they are swaying me to read their magazine vs. any other!

But it is a fact of life that money will dictate what is presented as 'fact' or even presented at all... (e.g. Fox, CNN, ABC, Al Jazeera, etc...)

Anyway, back on topic, haha, who all is running their 808 this weekend?!
I am, if the rain stops and the track is built...

it's all good man... you don't see me getting all mad or anything... these things happen... i just like to point out how good that mag is due to that point... it's so much easier when your on the fence of buying a car then go read the rc car mag b/c they give you an HONEST opinion about that car...

-DC-

BTW i have to agree with rocco on how good these 808's are... by far the best car i've ever driven.. i love this car and anyone that says this is a 8ight copy needs to own one of these 808's before they say that... i havn't replaced a part yet...

Thanks for the comments on the paint job guys.

I just use plain old Tamiya masking tape, the wide stuff and cover the entire inside of the body. Then carefully cut out the design and start the peel-and-paint process starting with the chrome sections (Tamiya flat aluminium I think it's called, which gets backed by black).

And RC Huligan, I didn't wet the pavement.... it had been raining for about 3 weeks straight, and I had just finished the body I hate winter....
