Info I found on another forum : RC CAR Magazine (September 2008) issue.

Comments and review done by former LOSI team driver Aaron Waldron who is now an editor @ RCCAR. Here are some of the highlights of this review.

"The 808's steering feels concceted and inspiring, rotating through even the tightest corners without a lack of rear grip"

"Remarkable fit and finish"

"Feels like a Cadillac, drive like a Ferrari"

"This car shoots out of the corners like a rocket"

Enjoy the car, finish races, and most of all have fun. I'm in an area of LOSI and KYOSHO madness here in Southern California. I get the comments all the time, do I care....no When they break, burn a servo 'Losi' or better yet brake a front a arm 'Kyosho' I stay quiet. It doesnt matter. What does matter is having confidence in a product that provides you with a return on investment and overall satisfaction. Xray has done that for me since my first buggy the XB8. It doesnt get any better than the Xray line of cars. Thank you XRAY!

Xtreme RC Cars magazine reviewed the XRAY 808 in their August 2008 issue and they gave it really high marks. It got all 9s and 10s. Here are their "Hits" and "Misses".

Hits
- Best instructions and tuning guide in the business
- The best parts, finish, and quality around
- Base set-up hits the mark for US style tracks

Misses
- Battery case lid too close to engine, and is hard to close/access.
- Battery case is for flat pack battery. It limits your choices.
- Center chassis braces seem a little too far apart, and the center part of the chassis flexes more than I care for.

RC America has set MAP pricing at $630 and we have already raised our prices on the XRAY 808 to match XRAY's price increase. A Main Hobbies and Stormer Hobbies both are selling their 808 kits at the old price of $600. I see A Main still has the 808 in stock. I recommend you buy it there before they raise their price.

xtreme seems to rate everything 9-10 no matter what it is... which is the reason I only read r/c car and plus stephen was nice enough to sponsor my series that I'm a director for and since they help out with that they get more people reading ther mag over some of the others... go way to promote your company...

Promoting my company? I just promoted two of my top competitors (A Main Hobbies & Stormer Hobbies) and you think I'm plugging my company? [Posted edited to remove pre-mature & likely overblown defense. Sorry about that.]
