I wouldn't think that the rear hubs would be neccessary in AL. You do get some added adjustability but meh -- you also get added weight.

The Al. caster blocks are an OK mod. Usually I shy away from Al. parts because they are heavier. These are actually the same wieght as their plastic counterparts.

It comes down to what level you are at. I am currently running my 808 with only the Adjustable suspension holders; the only other mod I am currently entertaining is the one-piece engine mount. I have not broken anything yet.

Later,

Try SKF , FAG, INA, TIMken. I know a racer who do run and use INA bearing on all it's drive train (except clutch/motor). And he never complain about problem on bearing again.

We are a US XRAY dealer and have had a good experience working with RC America. The only issue we have had is in regard to backordered kits and parts which is what I think you are alluding to. This has been frustrating.

We actually got a shipment in today. I was happy to see we got caught up on all of our backordered items except for a couple XRAY 808 kits and a few 808 parts. I've heard its going to be awhile before the 808 ActiveDiff is available.

I don't how much of this should fall on RC America or XRAY. Given what I heard about the backlog of work at the XRAY manufacturing plant I would lean towards XRAY. The XRAY 808 has been the poster child for the backorder situation, but you have to keep in mind that the 808 has been really popular since its release in April or May. It's is by far our most popular XRAY RC car and we get questions about its availability all the time.

At least RC America will give us answers when we contact them. Without that XRAY fans and customers would really be frustrated.

I'm just sharing my experience, ordered 2 Xray 808 bodies, over a month and still haven't arrived. I have talked to a number of shops looking for parts and they do not have very many good things to say about R/C America.

I'm only speaking on my behalf.

Yeah, I wish RC America received shipments from Europe more often than every 3 weeks.

Just wanted to take a minute to let you all know about RC-XRAY. They are the bomb. They told me to order my 808 last week, cause they were expecting a shipment soon.(They promised me the old price) I was promised if it did not come in a timely manner I could get a full refund. They updated me on status every step of the way, and offered me a refund twice, even though it was only a few days. They got shipment in a week as promised, sent me confirmation, and ,my 808 will be here in a few days. They always responded to my queries. There customer service is second to none, and I will do all my shopping with them from now on. (as long as they have stock, lol) Give em a try guys, they are one-in-a-million. Jaz

Swampracer - Sorry about your experience, and not to sound like a smart a$$, but we cannot ship something we don't have in stock. I'm not placing the blame anywhere, but if we don't have stuff to sell we won't make money, so it's not like we hold back shipments or give priority to certain shops. The only priority we give is to the calendar and when the items are ordered. If you order two bodies, and a hobby shop orders 30 the next day, and we only have 15, you get 2, they get 13. Again, I am sorry about any inconveniences, and also feel free to give us a call at anytime inquiring stock or order status, the internet isn't solving all the problems *yet*! haha

Regarding the price, this shipment of buggies all went out at the original price, after this wave OUR cost on the buggy is going, as well.

Go-Tech motors should use the OS mounts.

Wow! Thanks. I look forward to seeing photos of your XRAY 808 when you get it running. We'll post them on our site and blog. Thanks again for your kind words.

and I think it's more of a fact rather than speculation about the American dollar decreasing in value. I'm suprised it took this long to go up. Most companies don't announce a price increase, they just do it, and you find out next time you go to the hobby store.
I still don't understand the "play" that people talk about i had my Losi since feb and the is still very little to no slop in the front end.
I knew what the responses from eveyone were going to be when I posted about the price increase. Did you think I could come in here and talk about the band wagon you guys are riding on without anyone standing up for it.
Anyways Peace out.

It may be true that XRAY is 'milking the customers' if the buggy was more expensive when it was released (like a new product release in every other industry). I don't know how long you have paid attention to the XRAY cars, but they have been the same price for 4 years now, while our gas, milk, etc. has gone up. The dollar has lost 20% of its value when compared to the Euro, which is the currency of the home country of the manufacturer, who produces the parts and kits IN HOUSE (to my knowledge, now that Serpet is outsourcing to an Asian country, is the only company doing this now).... Check out the XRAY factory on their website, it is astonishing that they can manufacture and assemble these kits in that facility and sell them at their price.

You are also comparing apples to oranges with comparing gas to 808's in your previous post...

Gas in the US is a good that cannot be replaced, has no feasible alternatives and is in constant demand which does not alter with price changes (an inelastic good), whereas the 808 has many substitutes, is a niche' item, so the demand for this item is greatly influenced by price, so logically, a firm with a product like this would only raise a price if they necessarily had to, as in this case.

Understood, but it goes both ways. Whenever somone mentions how great the XRAY 808 is, it never fails that a Losi fanboy will call it the "808ight", an 8ight copy, etc.
