The 2050 rules! Anyone know why the crap great planes has it discontinued -- and then it shows up for a few days and gets discontinued again a few days after that?

Later,

Wheels & Tires.....

Like the others posts, its a true winner out of the box. You don't have to up-grade anything to make it fast(er) or more durable to race with, like a lot of other buggy's.

I haven't broke anything, or haven't yet need to replace anything that has worn out (slop) on the buggy. I get around a gallon on the CB bearings and replace with new ones (Avid's) I'm still using the stock clutch springs and they still feel great. I use the Max-life shoes, so there zero maintenance to them. I will also service the buggy's bearing after each gallon of racing too. Some guys will just replace with new ones, there only a dollar each. I use a air compressor then a ultrasonic cleaner to clean them, then I re-pack with a good bearing grease. I'm still on my factory bearings in the buggy after several cleanings now. But after I race my buggy again, I'll go ahead an replace all of them with the new Avid's.

The only maintenance that a 808 driver really needs to keep an eye on is the bearing maintenance.

The only thing I would suggest is an Aluminum servo arm for the steering servo, not sure if the stock one holds up or not, I never gave it a chance, just get an aluminum that will fit the servo type you are going to use

The 808 stock steering servo horn is one the beefiest out there. I would suggest running it IMO. Ally horns just up the chance of more serious damage somewhere else.

Yeah they do look beefy, and to Xray's credit they're one piece servo horns. On my Losi they supplied one universal horn with seperate inserts for different types of servos. I tried it and the first time you land the buggy on it's nose the insert would strip.

since then I've always used aluminum servo horns, I been running one on the 808 for about a gallon and no problems with it. And I keep the servo saver spring pretty tight.

but yeah, run the stock horn, and if it does give you problems then I would suggest aluminum

Anybody know who might still have the 808 in stock? I have looked everywhere and they all seem to be on backorder. Any one know when another shipment is due to hit the States?
