HPI Firestorm or TRAXXAS Rustler?
 

I am a newbie to nitro and currently looking to buy a Nitro RTR truck. I have narrowed it down to the HPI Firestorm or TRAXXAS Rustler, both 1/10 scale. They are both in the $300 price range and I need help making a wise decision.

firestorm ;) faster, more agile, better engine, takes almost as much abuse. and it wheelies straight out of the box :) if you have the rustler you'll want something more at some point. if you have the firestorm you'll just want to race it. beleive me, i was in the same position and i don't regret my choice.

many people will tell you to get an assosciated GT2, but its basically the same truck as the firsetorm! (look at the pics under the bodyshell)

well if i were gonna spend the money GT2, but if i could find a nice Mugen MST1 with a rock concepts extended chassis, that would be the shiznit...:nod::nod::nod:

i would say the GT2. its about the same price and is better than the firestorm and rustler on the track. the rustler's TRX 2.5 motor is more of an animal than the motors that come in the Firestorm and GT2 tho. but thats only if youu get them RTR.

JATO but if it just the Rustler and F/Storm I would go with the Traxxas, more durable, engine can take a flogging and aftermarket parts are everywhere for it

The jato is a great but if you only are looking into the firestorm and nitrorustler, then I would go with the firestorm.

Recommendations for a middle of the road 1/8 Nitro Truck?

Probably the thunder tiger st1, they have them on www.amainhobbies.com for only $300.

Yea, I would say Firestorm, but get the ST-1!
