Here is an update:
from the starting grid florida forum
Update on Jeff....
They did take him off dialysis a couple of days ago. The dr seemed to
think we wouldn't notice anything until about Sat or Sun as far as
urine output. They are talking about intermittent dialysis where he
is on it for 4 hours and then off 4 hours.
He has a wound vac on his leg right now. It's a bunch of foam put
into the space where he would have tissue & skin and then they turn a
pump on and it suctions to his bone and keeps infection from getting
in, plus takes away fluids. They actually changed it in the room
yesterday instead of OR AND he was in ALOT of pain. They are going to
change it in OR Saturday because there is some more spots that they
need to cut out. They are very concerned about his ankle area and the
hardware he has there from his motorcycle accident 7 yrs ago. They
seem to think he has a chronic infection in his bone and are probably
going to take the hardware out. If they do that, I'm not sure they
can put hardware back in. I haven't spoken to the orthopedic dr yet,
I'm hoping to do that soon. There's the possibility of fusing his
foot and ankle together or we are still looking at amputation if it's
real bad.
Jeff is still in alot of pain. He's taking pain medication every 3
hours so he is "out of it" pretty much most of the day, BUT sleeping
is the best thing for him now!
That's the latest update on Jeff. Hope you guys have a great time at
The Clash this weekend. I know Jeff really wanted to be there!!!
