My favorite is a McCoy's (or sullivan) are great if you can find them. I've had them last for four or five years. But if you want the longest lasting, I use a Radio South Pro-Glowdriver. I've had mine for about twelve years. I use it mainly with my helicopters (they flood from time to time), the driver detects if the engine has too much fuel in it and automaticly adds more juice to the glowplug to counter the flood. a bit of an overkill for a car and there around $80.00. plus there kinda big (4"x3"x1.5")

I use the Team Magic black magic metered ignitor, its about the same size as every other ignitor but your able to shove a big gp4300 or ib4200 cell in there. They work good. The new muchmore ones look good to

I buy the regular aluminum case glowplugs igniters with the meter on top. The ones that can unscrew and you can pull the Sub C cell out of it. Those are basically the easiest to maintain, since I can just get a couple Sub-C rechargable batteries and swap them out when needed. Something like the one on tower site listed below.

This is a subject I never think about because I keep three fully charged ignitors with me. Hot Shot 2 (2) & a Losi ignitor. I don't think there is a "best", just keep them charged.

For durability, what are you guys refering to? My concern for durability is how long the tip lasts before it looses its grip. When they are worn out they dont hold onto the plug very well and may flop around. I get an average of 2 years out of mine.

I have several, and I keep grabbing the Hot Shot. Also If I have a newer RC pit guy helping me at a local club race, I found its the easyest for them to use for some reason....

I have this one, but with the longer post.

I like my Racers Edge too. Easy to check the glow plug.

I usually use one of these two...
