Plugs for OS Vspec buggy engine
 

What plugs can I use on OS Vspec Buggy engine? No 3 turbo or higher? I have a bunch of 6 and 7 turbo plugs for my on road. I use OS 7 JP turbo on my VZR 21 and 6 on my Tz 12. Thanks.

Here is Florida, I chuck the P3 plug. Its too hot, and overheats the engine. We used it for break-in in only. I used RB 5 & 6 Turbo plugs and the car had stable 234 F temp and great power. The 6 seemed better than 5, but its getting cooler so we might switch to a five now depending on the temperature. I believe an O.S. P6 & P7 should be good also.

and, which plug is suitable for Hobao Hyper 21 8 port turbo? I'm currently using P3, but the engine overheated. i live in tropical country.

Another good choice for the V-Spec is the O'Donnell 97T. Tunes like a P3, but the element is more durable.

I can get 1-1.5 gallons threw a plug before its starts to look like it getting weak or breaks

do you think the 77t would be more like the P3 than the 97t? its hotter than the 97t, just wondering because just bought a v-spec and these plugs are pretty much cheaper than the OS ones. And the P3 is considered ultra hot.

I've run Novarossi, RB or Axe Rossi cold plugs 5, 6, or 7. Thats my choice since I'm used to italian glowplugs and have always used them since the early 90's. Number 8 is a bit cold and will make the engine boggy on the bottom IMO. Thats for really hot ambient temps and high engine speed. One thing to remember is with a hot plug, you have to richen the mixture compared to a cold plug, or the glowplug will blow out. If you can't get the engine to respond well with a hot plug without overheating it when leaning it out for tuning, then step down the heat range & try retuning the mixture again. A hot plug is easier to tune, but will also hide a bad tune, so you have to keep an eye on the temps. Everyone will have different glowplugs of their choice, simply because temps, humidity and elevation all affect the tuning of the engine and not everyone lives in the same place. If you live in tropical climate like Florida (80+ Deg F, humidity 75%+ and not above 1500 ft elevation) run a cooler glowplug.

the p3 is super hot, p6 is hot, p7 is medium, according to Tower hobby.

On my old RB WS7, sbk, and the old VBZ, I use 7 on hot days and 6 on cold days. My engines ran great.

I know to help break in, the engine makers put a hotter plug in. Like my novarossi 12, it come with 5, the 21 comes with 6. Once that plug is gone, usually after the engine breaks in, I put 6 in 12 and 7 in 21. My engine runs great in socal weather.

Is os 2050 a good pipe to run w/ the Vspec? I have one laying around the house. How about the JP (not JP black novaraossi based) pipes? I have a couple of those too.

There is the OS P4 as stated earlier, thats very hot, and the P8 very cold too.
I don't tun OS, but hear the 2050 & 2060 are the pipes best for the V-Spec. The 2060 I hear has better top end than the 2050 pipe from what I hear also.
