Just got done building my diffs and they seem tight. I am using the Tonys Screws Orings, Mugen diff oils. 5-5-3
They just seem so tight. I did not use the S3 orings in the diffs. Should I double gasket??
Help in a hurry.. not going to continue until I hear back from you guys...
Thanks

I have built the ones in my MBX5T Many times and they never seemed this tight.. Do that just need to be broken in? No nothcy or hard spots just stiff...

Update!
Tony's Screws now sells the GMK Supply Mobil 1 Grease. The grease comes in a reusable syringe that has a threaded cap on the end to keep the grease from leaking out. The Mobil 1 synthetic grease is ideal for diff o-rings. It's a perfect addition to the Tony's Screws S5 diff o-rings!

Earlier you guys were talking about running different brakes. I also use the TTR/AE brake discs with the steel pads (C304A) and I do three things:
1] I cut a tic-tac-toe shape into each side of the ceramic discs with a hack saw blade. Don't cut down too far, maybe only 0.020".
2] I use a thin o-ring between the metal calipers wrapped around the center diff mount and re-attach to the back side of the screw.
3] I use a 3.1mm reamer to clean up the lower brake cam hole. On the top bushing I will hold the longer cam in the bushing and kind of twirl it around to free it up. You should be able to tighten up all the center diff screws snug and then if you tilt the car side to side the brake arms and cams should flop side to side freely.

go to mugen's site, jason thread. i too thought my diffs were snug so im using two gaskets, it seals better, the diffs are very smooth, and when i put the diff in the bulkhead i found you dont need any shims for a perfect mesh. DONT USE S3 ORINGS, use the mobil 1 syn. grease, and if you put alot of grease on the orings, they dont fit in the groove all the way and push against the thin washer, the gears and make the diff snug. use 12mm screws.

I actually just fit the fatter S5 o-rings with some grease and assemble the diffs. They feel tight at first, but after you run them, the o-rings will seat and diff will be smooth. Just re-grease when re-doing the diffs and it will be smooth. Also, I and some others have used the S3 o-rings. The diffs appear to stay more consistent.

There were several running changes made on the second run buggy. They were just a few things to make the car a little bit better, revised air filter, battery box, clearances on the suspension arms, etc. The only performance gains if any would be the fact that the newer kit comes with option softer shock springs and lighter sway bars, as I stated these are options and could have been purchased seperate if you had the original buggy. I still have a first run kit.
