Mugen MBX6

I've noticed there isnt much activity in here, perhaps everyone has gone to the MBX7's and ditched the 6's? I just grabbed a 6R from here.

Hoping it'll be a vast improvement over the 8.2.
Looking for a lil input from someone that may have run the 8.2 and now running this.
Thanks

currently im experimenting with some x7 parts... keeps me busy

Anyone looking for a mbx6r rtr with radio arrow 5port and 10 sets of tires and a ton of part. car is virtually new new chassis and plastics and futaba 4pl for $560 pm me for details

Starter box and tire bag to go with

Anyone know if the MBX7 tank will fit the MBX6R?

fyi...
the mbx7 radio tray will fit, but you will have to drill 3 new holes for the receiver box.
center diff mount will bolt up just fine but your front brake linkage wont work.
you can use the x7 brake internals on the x6 diff mount, they are nicer imo.
front and rear diffs mount up perfect with corresponding bevel gears. center diff will mount in the x6 center diff mount but the spur gear is machined slightly different and sits further forward which changes the alignment with the clutch bell but should work just fine. i had it installed but never ran it. x6 spur is 44t, x7 is 46t. the x7 drivetrain is super smooth after broken in compared to the x6.

Any ride height advise

My first impressions on the MBX6R USA, coming off an RC8.2 w/OS Speed .21/OS 2060. I never really took a liking to the buggy(8.2), I felt as though I needed to spend a ton of cash on upgrades just to get her dialed. Dumped it, enter 6R.
The 6R came to me as a shelf queen, the car looked so good it almost could've passed as new, the set up was out of the box. I decided to run a Werks B7 Pro w/OS 2060, this thing ripped, off the bottom thru the mid, no real top end because our track is small and never got it let it out.
For the first time in nearly 6 weeks and close to a dozen trips to the track, I was contender, the 6R felt planted, hooked the corners like on rails and I never lost the rear end coming out, like so frequantly on the 8.2. Im very much impressed with the 6R as I knew I would, drove the 5 Prospec and 5T Prospec a few years back and loved em.
So glad I got the 6R I jumped on the 6E.

totally depends on the track and your driving style. id say a majority of US tracks can get a little bumpy and have larger jumps so you want a higher ride height. I set mine up with the back higher than the front so that entering a corner off power I get a bit more bite (front end) from weight transfer to the front. i think im at 29/24 right now which is a bit extreme and sometimes causes the buggy to slightly nose dive over larger jumps but thats easily correctable with the throttle.
set it up front higher than rear and youll have more rear on power traction cuz weight will transfer to the rear.
super smooth tracks w smaller jumps = lower ride height

Yea I've been experimenting lots with ride height
I've been running 25 27
I've got a modded x6 I call it a mbx6.5 r lol
I run mbx7 radio tray mbx7 diffs and centre diff
And steering standoffs
I have too much steering now it's pretty good and I do as good and better than some of the mbx7 drivers
I run 774 diff oils and run mbx7 shocks
600 front 550 rear 8x1.3 pistons

I just ordered the front hub carrier arm mounts MUGE2117, im assuming thats what you mean by the standoffs? if not leme know what part number your talking about. I just installed the red csi pistons with losi 60/50 but havent tested them yet either, thats next. then the 46t spur and the arm mounts. got alot of testing in the near future
