So I'm looking to get the buggy 8th scale. I thing this buggy comes built? And what upgrades will I need? What's the bet servo I can get for this buggy? Is this the same buggy that's been out since 2008ish?thanks

The current mbx6 kit is the mbx6R, it is a kit that needs assembling, mugen will most likely bring out an Mspec 6R pre-built kit but no word of one this year.
No option parts needed with the mbx6R, you do need a throttle servo horn, wheels, motor and pipe plus servos, battery and radio gear...good quality servos are needed, KO, Hitec, savox etc...get at least 10kg and 0.12 second responce, the better you buy the the better the car will be to drive and they will last longer.
This is an evolution of the mbx6 that came out in 2008, but it is one of the best buggys available in all respects, kit quality, one of the easier to drive fast, parts availabilty and not a kit that needs lots of $$ on options to make it work.

Does anyone have the mbx6r chassis length in mm.Im trying to see if I have a R version. thanks

if it has two places front and rear for different lengths of chassis braces its the R chassis, one hole should not have a spot. if it has the plastic rear brace thats another sign.

OK I just installed the Werks 4 shoe clutch on my MBX6 with O.S. Vspec engine, I am not pleased with the fitment as the stock pinion seems to overhang the crank so I needed to shim inside the bearing to be able to tighten the screw to hold things in place. Then while testing it always sounded like something was rubbing (very loud)
Any idea's? have any of you tried the Werks 4 shoe clutch or should I be using a different pinion for this setup?
Thanks
Sean

You have two choices. If you use the stock mugen clutch bell you need to use a crank shaft extender like the one found in the ofna shim pack. Or you can use what I use, the Ascendancy vented clutch bell. No extender required. Yes, its a little different setup but it is worth it. The clutch lasts a long time and is very consistant.
I would screw the transponder holder using the battery top plate screw. So it will between the lipo and receiver box
