JUST A QUESTION,STUPID I GUESS, BUT WHAT WOULD MAKE AN ENGINE GET BAD FUEL "MILEAGE" I GUESS?TUNING?FUEL?CLUTCH SET-UP?

Add: wrong pipe, poor mod job, bad engine design, loose track, atmospheric conditions and a heavy throttle finger.

I'm getting terrible mileage on my losi 427 about 4to5 min. and I added extra fuel line and just changed my stock pipe to a JP-2 and did'nt notice a differance in run time and a fuel filter also I live in Lake Havasu and I race all over the.The Nitro Pit,Silverstate,and been to Yuma, Las Vegas and seems like tune is off evry where I go

7-7 1/2 is good... 10 minutes is spectacular! (Assuming a legal 125cc tank of course...)

Someone before pointed out engine design, some engines will use more gas than others. Also, some engines are more difficult to tune than others.

I would suggest to ask around other guys at your track what type of engine they are using, if you got the same engine, pipe and maybe tune right, then it is your finger.

Like the MC commercial, you can buy engine, pipe and probably everything else, but finger.. is something else.

I get about 10:30ish on a tank. I am running a Losi 8 with an RB WS7-II and a JP-3 pipe.

Clutch:Mugen aluminum shoes and Mugen 1.1 springs with a Mugen 14 tooth clutch bell. Engen:P-5mod, NOT the Plus 21.Pipe:JP-1.Fuel:Byrons 20%.
Also if the fuel lines are really close to the pipe or engine can that be a cause because of the lines getting to hot and like burning the fuel in the line???

so what motor are you running and what pipe is it modded or stock also you may want to talk to someone that works on motors I would say that all the guys that mod motors would be able to help you out

You have a setup there that is all low end. If you like that it is OK but definitly not the best for fuel consumption. Sounds like 5 minutes to me.
What chassis are you running and how does it drive for you?
At 250 degrees you should be able to get better milage. What temps do you see coming off the track? Restrictors??
Let us know and we can better help.

FYI - You have a pipe designed to create torque at low RPM. Your clutch is set to not engage until it reaches high RPM. We can work it out for you though.
